The Braves had Thursday off after a series win against the Rangers, a 3 game set in which they scored 22 runs. Atlanta’s offense ranks 2nd in both OPS as well as home runs with several hitters that are in great current form. Bryce Elder gets the call in the opener as they welcome in the offensively challenged Mariners for their weekend series. Elder has been consistently solid in his 8 starts this season, posting a 1.94 ERA with several quality outings before handing things off to the bullpen. We will see some regression of him at some point, but it’s unlikely to come against a Seattle offense that’s among the worst in the league. Bryce Miller has 3 starts to his name and he’s been very good in all of them. However, he does have a high barrel percentage and is too reliant on his 4-seamer, something Atlanta will be able to take advantage of. With the huge discrepancy between these two offenses this play is worthy of 5% status. Take the Braves.
