3% ML Parlay (Mokaev/Patterson/Shore) - Hoping for a little “home cooking” on the prelims with these three UK fighters, all of whom I expect to get their hand raised.
Mokaev is up first and is a massive favorite against Jafel Filho, so I’m certainly not going out on a limb calling for a victory here. Filho will not be able to outwrestle Mokaev, who is 9-0 overall and 3-0 in the UFC. This is Filho’s official UFC debut after graduating from DWCS and he hasn’t faced the best of competition. Mokaev has shown me that he can control and wear out opponents that want to grapple.
Patterson has a huge size edge over his opponent (Yanal Ashmoz) and thus should win ITTD. He has a 10-inch reach edge, so I can’t see Ashmoz being able to do much damage here. Ashmoz may be 6-0 in his career, but has only fought three times since 2017. This seems like favorable matchmaking for Patterson in a battle of two fighters making their UFC debuts.
Finally, we’ll go with Shore, who is from Wales. He’s 16-1 overall and 5-1 in the UFC. His opponent Makwan Amirkhani is 17-8 overall and 7-6 in the UFC. Shore is coming off his first career loss here, so expect him to be VERY motivated. Amirkhani has questionable striking and cardio, thus he should be susceptible to getting finished in the second or third round.
