4% Under Burnley/Manchester City (1:45 ET): We turn to the FA Cup for today’s second O/U play. Incredibly, only four top flight (Premier League) sides remain in this competition as we get ready to start the quarterfinals. Two of them (Man U and Fulham) are matched up, meaning we’re guaranteed to get at least one lower level side in the semis (Sheffield or Blackburn) and it also should be noted that - for the first time since 1990 - we’ve got a fourth tier side (Grimsby Town) in the FA Cup Quarter Finals.
Given their continued chase of Arsenal in the Premier League, as well as the Champions League, Manchester City is probably thrilled to have drawn second-tier Burnley here in the quarters. Burnley does currently lead the Championship by a pretty wide margin, and this will undoubtedly be a match they are motivated to win. But Man City is just a different class of opponent than Burnley are used to facing, at least this season. Plus the last 10 meetings between these two sides have seen Man City prevail 10 times by an aggregate of 34-1! It was a pair of 2-0 City victories last season when Burnley was competing in the EPL.
I would be surprised if Burnley scored here as City have conceded only four times in their L10 FA Cup matches here at the Etihad. They’ve also not conceded a single goal in their three previous FA Cup matches this season, beating Chelsea 4-0, Arsenal 1-0 and Bristol City 3-0. Burnley also won’t be facing the same subpar goalkeeping they usually see down in the Championship. Obviously, after what City just did to RB Leipzig in the Champions League (win 7-0!) earlier in the week, there is the fear that they could send this one Over the total themselves. But I do not see that happening as we will almost certainly get a “rotated” side for this fixture. 4% Under Burnley/Manchester City (at 3.0)
