Kansas owns the 24th most efficient offense in D1 ball and operates at the 69th fastest adjusted tempo. Defensively the Hawks are the 10th best defensive team, in efficiency, in the weighted and adjusted metrics per KenPom.

This Kansas troupe held the opposition to an effective field goal percentage of just 47.1 which was the 35th best in Division I.  Opponents shot just 31.2 percent from the 3-line against the Jayhawks this season and in relationship to the JHawks creating turnovers and turning them into transition points Bill Self's squad was the 17th best at creating chaos, defending at an elite level, with an undersized frontcourt.

All things equal the Razorbacks are more capable of defending than scoring at basketball's highest amateur level. The Razorbacks are a poor shooting team and create points by getting to the rim. The Hogs shoot just 31.6 percent from distance, 69 percent from the charity stripe, and have extended their season with a frontcourt that ranks as the 16th-best D1 team in blocks and 23rd-ranked troupe in steals. Arkansas ranks as the 25th best in college basketball in terms of free throw attempts to field goal attempts by getting to the line at a high rate. The team ratio of FTA: FGA is 39 free throws for every 100 possessions.  The issue that the Hogs have had this season is that they surrender the same ratio to their game-night opponents.

Big Dance events, even the second game in three days for teams that advance, isn't as fatiguing as the situation when it occurs in the regular season.

Each team has three 30-second timeouts per regulation game, two of which may be carried over to the second half. 2. Each team has one 60-second timeout, which may be used at any time during the game.

If Kansas gets anywhere close to a double-digit lead in the late stages of the first half of the early part of the second 20 minutes session this afternoon it is game-set-and-match. No team among the Power 6 conferences melted as the Hogs did in the final 10 minutes of games this season. 

This Arkansas team did not live up to expectations and if there is one team from one of the five major leagues in D1 ball it is this Fayetteville troupe. 

Arkansas recorded a 5-10 Quad I record, a 4-2 Quad II mark, and took a bad loss in a Quad III matchup.  

The Jayhawks executed a ridiculously difficult regular season schedule this season working a 17-7 Quad I, 4-0 Quad II, 3-0 Quad III, and 4-0 Quad IV marks this season. No team in the history of D1 basketball has won 17 Quad 1 games in a single season or faced as many top-ranked teams as Kansas did. Most of the key pieces wearing Kansas jerseys in this game tasted what it took to win a national championship a season ago and while this is not a national championship matchup, at least not half of it, the Jayhawks play cool, collected and do not need bench minutes to play uptempo or grind out a defensive 40 minutes of winning basketball.
