The Pride pulled off what most college pundits consider an upset when they defeated the Scarlet Knights in 1st round of the NIT tournament. The Big 10 didn't need long to provide evidence of the league's true power ratings as a conference when Rutgers fell to Hofstra.

The Pride averaged 74.5 points per game and scored 88 points in the win over the Knights. They won 13 of their last 14 games but in a league, the CAA, that was less than compared to that of the level of competition that the Bearcats played their regular season slate, in the American.
