Pitt lost 3 of 4 to end the season. One was a look ahead game when they lost at Notre Dame as they got caught looking ahead to their big showdown with Miami for the ACC Championship. They loss at the buzzer to Miami in the season finale and Pitt players were so distraught losing the ACC Championship that HC Capel didn’t let his players address the media after the game. Pitt made an early exit from the ACC Tourney which gave them time to regroup and reset. Pitt was one of the last 4 in and had to play in the Play In Game which is a huge advantage. Pitt now has a game Under their belt and and the way the game played out was a huge confidence building win. Iowa St likes to slow it down and play a half court physical game but guess what the Play In game on Tuesday was the best preparation Pitt could of had. The game against Mississippi St. was a slow physical game that went right to the buzzer with Pitt winning 60-59 preparing Pitt for the exact same style of game that Iowa St plays. Pitt was an Undervalued team all year and that is why they went 23-9 ATS this season. Pitt is 8-2 ATS in non conference games this year and is 16-6 ATS following a Win this season. We have a low total in this game meaning Points will be at a Premium so getting Pitt +4.5 is a +EV Play. My numbers have PITT by 4 or more.
