3% Take Texas A&M (#754)

Penn State played four games in four days last weekend in the Big 10 Tournament.  Each and every one of those games was a physical war. All four games came down to one possession at the end; none were decided by more than four points – truly an ultra-intense tournament run.  Teams like the Nittany Lions that completely empty the tank in conference tourney action are ‘fade only’ squads for me in the first round of the Big Dance; regardless of their statistical profile.

The Aggies have played their best basketball down the stretch: 10-2 ATS in their last dozen ballgames; 8-2 ATS in their last ten tries against an opponent with a winning record.  I expect them to be the fresher team on Thursday.  Unlike Penn State, Texas A&M is coming in to the Dance off a real stinker, blown out by Alabama while shooting only 30% from the floor.  They’ve had all week to stew about it, and Penn State ain’t no Alabama.  Short chalk worth laying!  Take Texas A&M
