Jack Shore -500 over Makwan Amirkhani
Amirkhani has incredible wrestling, good striking and a good submission game. But only for the first two minutes of the fight. Then it’s over for him. He’s lost four out of five fights with his one win being a crazy submission against Mike Grundy early in the fight. He comes out strong, and then if he doesn’t get the finish he’s pretty much done. That’s a bad recipe when fighting Jack Shore. Shore is 16-1 with his last loss being last July against Ricky Simon, in a fight that we predicted Shore to get his first loss. Simon was going to be the hardest striker he’s faced with non-stop chain wrestling, and Shore got finished in the second round. I think that loss was needed for Shore as he saw the weaknesses in his game, and he’ll be able to make those adjustments. He has great cardio and really good take down defense, and he’ll be able to extend the fight and as Amirkhani gets tired Shore will start landing more shots on the feet, and will probably work takedowns in rounds 2 and 3. This is a great get right spot for Shore, he should roll here.
Gunnar Nelson -480 over Bryan Barberena
This is a bad matchup for Barberena as he likes to get into standing strike battles, and he needs an opponent willing to do that. He has wins against the corpse of Robbie Lawler, and Matt Brown and Darian Weeks, but lost to Witt, who is a wrestler and won by taking Barberena down. He just got subbed by Dos Anjos who dominated him on the ground, and that’s going to be the clear path to victory for Nelson. Nelson came off a big break due to injuries and won against Sato by utilizing control time and takedowns. It was a dominant victory in his comeback, and he’l do the same in this one.
Jake Hadley -350 over Malcolm Gordon
Malcolm Gordon is a fade fighter in the UFC. He’s 2-3, and one of his wins was against Francisco Figueiredo, one of the worst UFC fighters ever, and the other was against Denys Bondar who broke his arm one minute into the fight as he was trying to get up off the mat in a freak injury. He’s just not good anywhere, and Hadley should have the advantage everywhere the fight should go. Hadley has good forward pressure on the feet with good movement, but his submission game is good as well as he’s won two out of his last three fights by submission. Gordon just got dominated and subbed by Mokaev, I would expect a similar result here as Hadley should get the win.
