Leverkusen sit 2.0 xP (expected points) behind where they currently are in the table, not too significant, but worth noting. However, at home is where they have deserved better.  They have earned just 11 points at home compared to 16.4 xP, the biggest underperformance of any team in the Bundesliga.  Positive regression was due to come.  After losing their first three at home this season, they then went unbeaten in five matches with three wins and two draws including keeping three clean sheets.  

The came out of the World Cup break with a nice 3-2 away win at Gladbach to make it four straight wins overall, granted there was the 2-month break in the middle of that.  

Bochum have also won three in a row, however two of them were at home and the one away match they beat Augsburg 1-0 despite xG showing a tally of Augsburg 2.35 (0) - (1) 1.14 Bochum.  On the season, Bochum are averaging a ridiculously bad -1.69 xG differential away from home which easily ranks as the worst in the league.  That win broke a 5-match losing streak by 2+ goals.  They are allowing 2.65 xGA on the road which does not bode well as they travel to Leverkusen coming off their 3-goal performance.
