3% Cremonese +0.5 (12:30 ET): Serie A's Cremonese and La Liga's Elche remain the only two winless sides across Europe's “Big 5” in league play. For the former, I believe there's a good chance that the elusive first league win could come on Monday.
The “new manager bounce” is in effect here for Cremonese. In their first official match with Davide Ballardini at the helm, they got a win, albeit in the last 16 stage of the Coppa Italia. But defeating Serie A leader Napoli, while being reduced to 10 men for the last 20 minutes of added time, is an achievement certainly worth noting. Now the hope is that “momentum” carries over into league play.
Ballardini has pulled off the “new manager bounce” before as he is unbeaten in five previous debut matches as a Serie A boss. He won first matches while in charge at Genoa, Lazio and Palermo and earned draws in with Cagliari and Bologna. He faces one of those former clubs Monday, Bologna, who has some injury concerns and is susceptible to set pieces. All we need here is a draw to cash and I believe Ballardini and Cremonese are more than capable here of - at least - sharing the points. 3% Cremonese +0.5 (Play to -150)
