2nd all-time meeting between the two with Rune winning 2-0 back in October in Paris. Both players have been great in their first three matches. Rune hasn't dropped a set while Rublev has dropped just one. I give the edge to Rune though who at his ripe young age of 19 does not seem to shy away from the big matches with wins over world #1 Alcaraz and Djokovic who he beat in the final in Paris. Going back further, wins over Tsitsipas, Norrie and De Minaur as well as he finished 2022 on a 19-2 run.
Rublev tends to fade away on the biggest stage and has had never made the big step at the majors to truly contend. He is a fringe Top-10 player, but struggles against the Top-10 while Rune looks much more comfortable in that department.
