AMEX ROUND 4
Play #1
2% Montgomery > Burns (-115)
Ended up a small loser in golf yesterday, our 3% play on Mitchell lost even though he shot -6. These will even out over the season, just sucks when they seem to keep happening in one tournament.
Anyways on to today. This tourny offers a unique edge that has been profitable for years. Only 1/3 of the field plays the stadium course (SC) in b2b days (rounds 3&4). Going back through the last 5 years, players who played the SC in round 3 shot 1.4 strokes lower (in the final round) than those who played it in rounds 1 or 2.
That is the angle for this matchup. Montgomery shot -7 on the SC yesterday and Burns hasn’t seen it since round 1. Yes, Burns was excellent in the first round but has cooled off on the ball-striking considerably since then.
Sorry for the essay but some of you actually read these write ups and we hope they show we are not just throwing darts and hoping some stick.
Good to -125
