Mark Few couldn't really ask for a better opponent to get things back on track after a disappointing home loss to Loyola Marymount. Pacific's defense is No. 270 in adjusted efficiency, No. 287 in effective field goal percentage allowed, No. 268 in three-point shooting allowed and No. 276 in two-point shooting allowed. Those numbers are alarming because Pacific played the No. 323 schedule according to KenPom's metrics, and the Tigers haven't played a single opponents in the top-80. When they have stepped up in class, their defense has been shredded: 88 points allowed to Stanford, 82 points allowed to Santa Barbara, 92 points allowed to Santa Clara and 78 points allowed to San Francisco. That number against the Dons would probably have been much higher, but San Francisco took its foot off the gas in the second half after building a 19-point lead at halftime. Coach Few probably won't take his foot off the gas in this one. The Bulldogs have the next seven days off, so there's no reason to leave something in the tank. Gonzaga has hit the century mark four times in its last nine games, and we wouldn't be surprised to see them crack 100 on Saturday night. Pacific enjoys shooting the three-pointer. Three-pointers lead to long rebounds. Long rebounds lead to transition points. There are few teams in the country that know that formula better than Gonzaga.
