3% Take Atlanta (#508)
My clients and I cashed with Atlanta as underdogs in Dallas earlier this week. We cashed with the Hawks in their 15 point win over the Knicks last night. And I have no hesitation getting right back to the betting window with the Hawks again tonight as they take on bottom feeder Charlotte. Let me start with an excerpt from my pro-Hawks write-up from last night. Numbers have been adjusted slightly to reflect current realities:
“Atlanta is showing real ‘bet-on’ signs for the first time all season, finally above .500 and primed to improve on that mediocrity. Head coach Nate McMillan called their last road trip their ‘best of the season’ and they followed that up with a wire-2-wire victory over their playoff nemesis Miami on Monday and a hard fought win at Dallas on Wednesday. Center Clint Capela is back in the lineup, leaving Atlanta at full strength right now. Capela after the win vs Miami: “Definitely going to build on this. We just have to keep building on this and playing the game the right way, which is going to give us a chance to stack up (wins).” Backcourt stud Dejounte Murray: “We just have to be consistent. That’s the main thing.”
Here's Trae Young’s quote after last night’s victory: “We’re just playing hard. If things aren’t clicking at the beginning, we’re just trying to finish it off and that’s what we’ve got to do. That’s what we did” (vs the Knicks last night, a game where they struggled early). More Young: “We’re doing what we’re capable of doing when we’ve got everybody back.” It’s surely worth noting that each of Atlanta’s last four victories on this winning streak have come by eight points or more.
The Hawks beat Charlotte by 19 when these two teams met last month at Charlotte and they won by 29 against the Hornets on this floor in the final meeting last year. The Hornets aren’t expected to have starting point guard LaMelo Ball tonight joining Cody Martin and Kelly Oubre on the sidelines. They beat Houston in their last game; but Steve Clifford’s squad is a woeful 1-10 SU, 3-8 ATS off a single victory this season. Clifford’s quote about the latest Ball injury (his third injury this season): “It’s deflating, for sure.” Chalk worth laying. Take the Hawks.
