St Bonaventure has plenty of flaws, so this isn't a "buy on" signal for them. It's definitely a "play against" signal on Loyola. Drew Valentine was a hot coaching commodity after he inherited a pretty strong roster from Porter Moser, but the train has come off the track in Valentine's second year. The Ramblers have lost seven in a row, and haven't covered a point spread in over a month. The Bonnies had to rebuild their roster from last year's NIT Final Four team, and the pieces are starting to mesh. After a couple chin-scracthing losses in non-conference play, Mark Schmidt's club has started 4-2 in the A-10 but all four of those wins have come in New York. The Bonnies are still searching for their first road win of the year, and this trip to Chicago will present their best opportunity. Daryl Banks III, one of the heroes of St Peter’s march into the Elite 8 last season, is starting to hit his stride after scoring 20 points vs Richmond and 27 against George Mason. Media reports around the Loyola program suggest that Valentine is really struggling to hold his team together during this losing streak. Stay far away from the Ramblers until we see some different signs from that squad.
