4% West Ham (10:00 AM ET): Both of these Premier League teams currently sit in the relegation zone. With West Ham, you’ve got calls for the embattled manager David Moyes to be sacked. But that’s nothing compared to what’s going on at Everton where last week ownership was told to STAY HOME due to concerns for their safety. (And that was before the Toffees lost!)
Everton last won in the league on October 29th. They have five losses and two draws since. West Ham last won in the league on October 24th and it’s been six losses and one draw for them in the last seven fixtures. So it seems like it’s tough to make a case for either side.
But you look at expected points, and it paints a pretty interesting picture with these two. Everton has the second fewest number of xPts in the league right now (ahead of only Bournemouth), so they very much deserve to be in the bottom three. Meanwhile, West Ham is actually NINTH in the league in xPts! So it can be argued that the Hammers have been a bit unlucky with 11 points fewer than expected, easily the biggest gap in the Premier League. Everton have won just once on the road all season. They also have the fewest number of total wins in the league (only 3). I’ll take a risk and play West Ham to get the full three points at home. 4% West Ham (Play to -145)
