4% Take Atlanta (#527)
I’ve been betting against the Mavs as home chalk for the better part of the last three months; 7-1 ATS in my last eight tries fading Dallas on their home floor. They’ve been consistent money losers as favorites on ANY floor, to the tune of 11-20 ATS in 31 previous tries laying points this season. Don’t expect that to change this evening.
Dallas has seen the injuries pile up right in the midst of their most grueling portion of the schedule. They’re playing their seventh game in 11 days – two sets of back-2-backs during that span. While Luka Doncic (ankle) is expected to play, Dallas won’t have key role players Maxi Kleber or Tim Hardaway again tonight. This team has lost four of their last five, stumbling through the dog days of January, worth fading again this evening. Head coach Jason Kidd: “Hopefully we get healthy soon. Until then, we have to play with the guys who are in uniform.”
Atlanta is showing real ‘bet-on’ signs for the first time all season, finally back to .500 and primed to improve on that mediocrity. Head coach Nate McMillan called their last road trip their ‘best of the season’ and they followed that up with a wire-2-wire victory over their playoff nemesis Miami on Monday. Center Clint Capela is back in the lineup, leaving Atlanta at full strength right now. Capela after the win vs Miami: “Definitely going to build on this. We just have to keep building on this and playing the game the right way, which is going to give us a chance to stack up (wins).” Backcourt stud Dejounte Murray: “We just have to be consistent. That’s the main thing.” Wrong team favored here…. Take the Hawks
Line Parameter: 4% at +1 or higher, 3% at pk or if Atlanta goes off as the favorite
