The Mariners are hosting the Phillies Tuesday night, where they'll look to bounce back after a tough run of games, having dropped last night's game 9-0 and also going against some of the best teams in the Majors as of late. The result from Monday night doesn't bother me due to the inconsistency of the Phillies lineup and the belief I have in the Mariners to bounce back offensively tonight. The Mariners will have their ace, Robbie Ray, on the mound, who is also looking to bounce back after a tough outing; I expect the Phillies to be the team he does that against. After winning the Cy Young last season, we know what Ray can do, and tonight I look for him to find his form and start dealing again. The Mariners have been solid against teams with a losing record, winning 4 of their last 6. Seattle has been doing very well for a club that has had such a demanding schedule to start the season, and this is an excellent spot for them to move on from last night's blowout and get a win for their ace. Philadelphia hasn't played good ball recently, losing 4 of their last six games and holding a 3-7 record on the road this season, while Seattle has a solid 8-5 record at T-Mobile Park. Aaron Nola will take the mound for the Phillies; he's been hit or miss on the year with an ERA of 3.38. In Nola's two starts on the road this season, he has given up five earned runs in 11.1 innings and 13 hits; those numbers are much higher than when he plays at his home park. Despite Nola pitching decently this season, the Phillies have only managed to win one game with him on the mound and have lost their last five games he's started. This season, the Phillies have had a weak bullpen with an era of 4.43. After a rough go for the offence last night, look for the Mariners to expose them late in the game, and with Robbie Ray on the mound, I trust him to find his form and shut down the Phillies' offence early. Play the Mariners to bounce back tonight!
