In a heavyweight preliminary fight Tanner Boser squares off against Raphael Pessoa...

Tanner Boser is coming off a first round knockout win roughly a month ago against Philipe Lins, which was a client play cash!! Here Boser is coming in on short notice, but that shouldn't affet him at all. Coming off a full camp from last fight he'll be in great shape. Against Philipe Lins, Boser fought smart and showcased his quick hand speed and countering ability. For such a big guy, Boser cuts angles well seeking openings to work his offense. Heavy shots to Lins chin early and it was night night. Prior to that Boser lost to top prospect Ciryl Gane, who's high level kickboxing and power is a scary mix. Boser lost by decision, but held his own against Gane's killer instict. In Boser's UFC debut he dominated Daniel Spitz over 3 rounds. Spitz had a sizeable reach advantage but Boser's footwork and hand speed kept Spitz out of rhythm getting pick apart for 3 rounds.

On the other side, Raphael Pessoa who's 1-1 since entering the UFC. After also losing to Ciryl Gane via first round submission in his UFC debut, he then faced a lackluster Jeff Hughes. At times Hughes gave Pessoa trouble striking, even with his basic technical skills. Pessoa won via decision, but looked unimpressive all around never displaying crisp striking or power shots. Even with his looping hooks and slow footwork Hughes never capitalized, also adding Hughes is 0-3 since entering the UFC.

Overall stylistically Tanner Boser checks off every box in this fight. Against a guy like Pessoa whom is flat footed, slow, leaves his hands low, and throws looping hooks with his head on center line....all of that Boser will expose. With terrifically timed combinations, quick developing 1, 2 counters and mixes up level changing kicks, it's just to many weapons for Pessoa to hold up. I believe Boser can land the big shot KO'ing Pessoa early or has the cardio to keep striking output high winning on the cards.

(* added value: Boser to win via KO)
