We're taking the home team, FC Cologne, to get the win here on Sunday with a victory over Mainz.

    - FC Cologne were on a three game unbeaten streak before losing to Borussia M.Gladbach just before the break. That loss was uncharacteristic of Cologne however, as they were sloppy throughout, giving up some cheap fouls and an own goal by Spanish defender Jorge Mere. That loss will likely be beneficial here though as it gives shrewd Cologne coach Markus Gisdol a lot to work on moving forward to finish the season.

    - The former German international, Gisdol has been a breath of fresh air since arriving to Cologne. He has been the third manager in a little over eight months for the club, but has really turned things around for the Westphalia side. With only having six games in charge of Cologne, Gisdol has changed their attacking patterns, shooting closer to goal, improving frequency of shots and overall Xg (expected goals), not to mention their table position. On defence too he has been busy, dropping deep in counter attacking formation where Cologne now give up three fewer shots per game than they did previously under Beierlorzer, and have an impressive three clean sheets over his six games in charge.

    - Mainz are a very average side and have just two wins over their last nine games in the Bundesliga, both coming against bottom half teams. They are just one place above relegation and will no doubt fight hard here to try and assure their place in Germany's top flight for next season, but overall, we see Cologne being too clinical up front here against a Mainz team who are giving up a league worst 2.67 goals per game on average away from home.

Take FC Cologne (Koln) on Sunday to grab the outright win here.
