German Bundesliga Betting Preview<\/h2>\n

Bayern Munich has captured the Bundesliga title in each of the last ten seasons, but the German giants will be introducing some new pieces this year. Can RB Leipzig or Borussia Dortmund close the gap? WagerTalk soccer handicapper Kevin Dolan shares his thoughts on how the German Bundesliga will shake out for the 2022-23 season.<\/p>\n

Bundesliga Title Race<\/h3>\n

Perennial champions Bayern Munich is the books’ sure-fire favorites this season, as high as -700 to maintain their stranglehold on a title they haven\u2019t lost in well over a decade. It\u2019s easy to see why, with Bayern dominating both the actual table and overall data last year in the German league.<\/p>\n

However, there have been some changes from last season, especially with league top scorer Robert Lewandowski leaving for Barcelona in the off-season, so as an outside play on RB Leipzig arguably presents the strongest title contenders to Bayern out of any team in the league this season.<\/p>\n

Italian Domenico Tedesco took charge of Leipzig back in December of last year and did a fantastic job of changing this team\u2019s fortunes around, taking them from 11th in the league in mid-December to the best team in the Bundesliga from January 1st on.<\/p>\n

If they can keep that same energy going into the new season, Leipzig may well end up being a dark horse for the title this year.<\/p>\n

Champions League Qualification<\/h3>\n

It\u2019s going to be difficult for any team to break the top-4 this season and arguably even at -300, RB Leipzig still looks like value to remain inside the title chasing pack.<\/p>\n

However, from an outsider perspective, Union Berlin offers the best value right now at +1400. Union finished just outside the top-4 last season in fifth place, and that was certainly no fluke as Union finished fifth on expected points last year along with having the second-best defensive xGA in the league as well last season.<\/p>\n

From April 1st on, things got even better for the capital club as they finished off the season incredibly strong with seven wins from their final eight games for the best overall record in the league and if they can pick up where they left off ahead of this season, they could well present a challenge to the bigger teams in terms of top-4 placement for this season.<\/p>\n

Bundesliga Relegation Odds<\/h3>\n

Augsburg is the favorite to go down this year in the Bundesliga and it\u2019s easy to see why as the Bavarians finished only marginally above Arminia Bielefeld and Greuther Fuerth, the two teams who suffered automatic relegation last season, in terms of overall expected points averages.<\/p>\n

Augsburg has added very little to bolster their squad in the off-season as well, so even at current odds of +110, while you\u2019re not going to get rich, Augsburg looks like the value play to go down this year in the German Bundesliga.<\/p>\n
