The capital teams of Roma and Lazio were\u00a0both squeezed out of the top four mix\u00a0last season\u00a0as AC Milan, Inter, Napoli and Juventus all took the top spots\u00a0in the league,\u00a0but the books believe Roma are definitely\u00a0potential candidates\u00a0this year\u00a0for a Top 4 spot with some\u00a0odds having them tied with Napoli as fourth favorites\u00a0in the market. No Value On The Top Teams<\/h3>\n

At odds of anywhere between -400 to -800, there\u2019s very little value in backing any of the big three\u00a0teams at current\u00a0odds\u00a0right now in\u00a0either Inter, Juventus or AC Milan\u00a0to finish inside the Top 4 this season.<\/p>\n

A Look Further Down The Table<\/h3>\n

A\u00a0look further down the table\u00a0reveals why the books have shortened Roma\u2019s odds of a\u00a0Top 4 finish this season considerably.<\/p>\n

Roma finished with the 4th best expected points tally\u00a0out of any team last\u00a0year, even ahead of teams like Juventus, and closed\u00a0out the year on an even stronger note\u00a0as well.<\/p>\n

From January\u00a01st on,\u00a0Roma ranked as the league\u2019s\u00a0third best team on\u00a0overall expected points, edging out Napoli in fourth\u00a0place and finishing a full\u00a05.40\u00a0xPTS ahead of Juventus\u00a0also.<\/p>\n

Not only that,\u00a0but Roma also had the second best xGA rating from January\u00a01st last season as\u00a0well, with only AC\u00a0Milan showing a better\u00a0overall mark\u00a0in the league\u00a0on defense.<\/p>\n

2022-23 Serie A Top 4 Prediction<\/h2>\n

Roma look like the clear cut value right now at odds of +150 to finally break the Top 4 this year, especially after their Europa Conference League success of last season.<\/p>\n

In terms of a potential outsider however, Fiorentina at +800 also offer value as the \u2018Gigliati\u2019 finished out the back third of the year strong with 20 points accumulated over the final 12 games of the season and the league\u2019s 4th best expected points tally from March 1st on as well.<\/p>\n

On top of that they\u2019ve been boosted by the arrivals of both Luka Jovic from Real Madrid and Rolando Mandragora from Juventus in both attack and defense respectively in the off-season as they look to improve on last season\u2019s 7th position mark in the league.<\/p>\n

Take Roma at +150 as the main play for Top 4 this season over in Italian Serie A with an outsider eye towards Fiorentina at odds of +800 also.<\/p>\n
