Internacional vs Coritiba Analysis<\/h2>\n

Internacional will look to get back inside the top four on Friday after slipping up against Botafogo RJ over the weekend.<\/p>\n

In what was an aggression-fueled match through out with four red cards dished out to both teams, Internacional squandered a 2-0 lead with Botafogo coming back with three goals late and scoring the winner a full ten minutes deep into injury time to hand Internacional their first defeat since the opening game of the season.<\/p>\n

Travelling Coritiba has much more pressing concerns, however, as they slipped to their third-straight defeat over the weekend against Athletico Paranaense with a late penalty awarded to the visitors in that one. Coritiba now finds themselves just two points clear of the relegation zone heading into Friday\u2019s game.<\/p>\n

Coritiba hasn\u2019t beaten Internacional in league action in almost a decade but have secured three draws against them over their last five head-to-head meetings.<\/p>\n

Hard Road For Coritiba<\/h3>\n

Coritiba has struggled on the road this season, remaining one of only two teams in the league to still not register a single win away from home this year.<\/p>\n

A lot of those issues for Coritiba have stemmed from their leaky defense which has given up a pretty significant 2.17 goals per game on average this season to opponents, the highest overall rate in the league.<\/p>\n

Internacional’s Sound Defense<\/h3>\n

On the opposite end, Internacional has enjoyed success on the defensive end, limiting opponents to no more than a single goal in their previous eight games prior to Sunday\u2019s loss against Botafogo.<\/p>\n

That success has been generated on Internacional\u2019s ability to limit opponents to the third-fewest goals allowed from open play this season in Brazilian Serie A.<\/p>\n

If Internacional can curb their league-high set-piece opponent goal rate also, the \u2018Celeiro de Ases\u2019 will have one of the most competent defenses in the entire league.<\/p>\n

Internacional vs Coritiba Prediction<\/h2>\n

Internacional should have too much for Coritiba in this one and we like them to bounceback at home on Friday with a win and cover on the -0.75 handicap line.<\/p>\n

Coritiba is in the worst form in the league over the last five games, generating just 0.40 points per game on average and failing to keep even one clean sheet over that stretch either.<\/p>\n

Internacional ranks second in the league on that same form metric, generating 2.00 points per game on average and have scored at least once in every single one of those games also.<\/p>\n

We expect that form to continue here and are taking Internacional -0.75<\/strong> on Friday to win and cover against Coritiba over in Brazilian Serie A.<\/p>\n
