Dundalk vs Shamrock Rovers Analysis<\/h2>\n

Top of the table clash over in Ireland on Friday as first-place Shamrock Rovers travel to second-place Dundalk over in Oriel Park with both teams in some electric form heading into this weekend\u2019s card.<\/p>\n

Rovers are eight points clear of Dundalk at the top of the table but have played one extra game over their rivals, losing a surprise road trip away to Drogheda United last month as well.<\/p>\n

Dundalk, meanwhile, after starting the season off slow, has really turned up the heater over recent games, ranking as Ireland\u2019s hottest team right now with six wins from their last seven games.<\/p>\n

Dundalk has two wins, a draw and a loss in their last four head-to-head meetings against Shamrock Rovers in this venue, but that one loss to Rovers was a lopsided 4-0 beatdown back in late 2020.<\/p>\n

Shamrock Rovers Strong On The Road<\/h3>\n

Shamrock Rovers will be confident of claiming a result in Oriel Park on Friday night as they come in with the league\u2019s best road record over their last six games.<\/p>\n

Rovers have averaged an impressive 2.17 points per game away from home over their last six road matches, despite that loss to Drogheda United last month, and have failed to score in just 17% of those games as well.<\/p>\n

Dundalk has bagged a perfect 18 points over their last six home games and that red-hot form has been a huge reason for their surge up the table since the early part of the season.<\/p>\n

Dundalk has outscored opponents 14-4 over that six game run and are averaging 2.11 goals per game at home this season, the highest mark out of any team in the league.<\/p>\n

With Dundalk\u2019s impressive home form over recent games, we simply have to take them getting plus half-a-goal headstart here at home against Shamrock Rovers on Friday.<\/p>\n
