The French took the lead in both of their opening games before two late goals from Denmark in their opening game, along with an 83rd minute penalty by Croatia in their second game has them rooted firmly in their current predicament.<\/p>\n

Austria scored a surprising 3-0 opening day victory against Croatia last Friday before a late 84th-minute winner from Denmark dropped them in their second game on Monday to see them second in the group overall with three points from their opening two games.<\/p>\n

France has an impressive head-to-head record against Austria historically, winning seven of their last eight matchups against them outright.<\/p>\n

France Failing To Turn Stats Into Positive Results<\/h3>\n

Despite dominating possession and pass accuracy stats over the opening two games of the group, France has failed to turn that dominance into actual results.<\/p>\n

France is also top of the group in total shots on target per game and second in total shots per game in this group also, so with their attacking threat being among the best in the world right now, many observers feel it\u2019s only a matter of time until this French team finally starts to click in this competition.<\/p>\n

Austria breezed through their last Nations League campaign with 13 points from six games and finishing top of their group, guaranteeing them promotion into the top tier of the competition this time around.<\/p>\n
