New York Rangers vs Tampa Bay Lightning Analysis<\/h2>\n

The Tampa Bay Lightning have roared back into this series after securing back to back impressive victories in Florida which has seen them enter Thursday\u2019s Game 5 as road favorites in New York.<\/p>\n

New York for their part have lost just one game at home across the entire postseason so far, so will be no easy outs against the Lightning in MSG here on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The Rangers are 4-0 in New York against the Lightning going back to the end of last season.<\/p>\n

Lightning Hoping To Use Tuesday\u2019s Game 4 As A Springboard<\/h3>\n

Despite all the positive soundbytes coming out of the Lightning\u2019s camp and in media after Tuesday\u2019s impressive victory over New York, Jon Cooper and co. will no doubt be concerned by the fact that was Tampa\u2019s first real performance in this series.<\/p>\n

The Rangers ran out comfortable winners in Games 1 & 2 and looked in command of Game 3 also before Tampa Bay rallied back midway through the 2nd period to secure the win, so the Lightning will no doubt be eager to build off that series best performance heading into tonight\u2019s game.<\/p>\n

Not only do the Rangers own an impressive H2H record against the Lightning this season, but they\u2019ve also thrived in this home underdog role over this postseason so far.<\/p>\n

The Rangers have won five of their last six matchups outright when they\u2019ve been installed as pre-game home underdogs and with the playoffs best opponent conversion percentage this season also at just 7.59%, the Rangers will be confident they can continue that run here.<\/p>\n

New York Rangers vs Tampa Bay Lightning Prediction<\/h2>\n

We like the New York Rangers as short home underdogs to bounceback with a win tonight in Madison Square Garden.<\/p>\n

The Rangers simply weren\u2019t clinical enough in Tuesday\u2019s Game 4, outshooting the Lightning overall, but not being able to finish outside of their already season high power play record.<\/p>\n

Over the playoffs as a whole however, the Rangers have a far better shot conversion rate than the Lightning this season, owning a 10.34% to 9.51% advantage over Tampa Bay this postseason.<\/p>\n
