Baltimore Orioles vs Cleveland Guardians Analysis<\/h2>\n

The Baltimore Orioles will host the Cleveland Guardians on Friday night to open up a three game series from Camden Yards.<\/p>\n

The Guardians are coming off a demolition of the Kansas City Royals that resulted in a three game sweep. The Orioles lost two of three at home against the Seattle Mariners, keeping them at the bottom of the American League East.<\/p>\n

Cleveland will send their ace Shane Bieber to the hill, the Orioles will counter with southpaw Bruce Zimmerman. First pitch is slated for 7:05 PM EST\/4:05 PST<\/p>\n

Guardians Of Momentum<\/h3>\n

The Cleveland Guardians will be looking to ride the wave of a three game sweep over Kansas City where they outscored the Royals 19-6. Now they head into Baltimore hoping to win their fifth game in six tries.<\/p>\n

Rookie starter Konnor Pilkington tossed five shutout innings while striking out eight in their latest victory 4-0 victory over the Royals. Andres Gimenez went 2 for 4 with a double and RBI.<\/p>\n

The Guardians average 4.61 runs a game, while ranking 11th in batting average, 15th in on-base percentage and 16th in slugging percentage. Cleveland will send righty Shane Bieber to the hill on Friday night.<\/p>\n

Bieber has been sharp but not dominant, with a 2-3:record, 3.19 ERA and 1.21 WHIP on the season. Bieber has picked up steam recently, throwing 15 total innings with four runs allowed and 15 strikeouts in his last two starts against the Detroit Tigers.<\/p>\n

Baltimore Better Than Expectations<\/h3>\n

The Orioles lost their last game 7-6 in the 10th inning to the Seattle Mariners. However they have now alternated wins and losses for eight straight games a been a pest to teams that should be superior to them. Leadoff man Cedric Mullins went 2 for 4 with two doubles and two RBI.<\/p>\n

They kept it close, despite Jordan Lyles giving up five runs(four earned) on nine hits in only five innings of work. The Orioles offense only scores 3.87 runs a game on a .669 OPS that ranks 23rd in the league.<\/p>\n

Baltimore’s pitching isn’t very good either, as they allow 4.52 runs per game which ranks 26th in the MLB. The Orioles hope southpaw Bruce Zimmerman can right the ship.<\/p>\n

The young lefty is 2-3 with 4.53 ERA and 1.30 WHIP. Zimmerman got rocked for six runs on eight hits including five home runs in his last start against the Boston Red Sox.<\/p>\n

Baltimore Orioles vs Cleveland Guardians Prediction<\/h2>\n

The Cleveland Guardians come into this game as -150 favorites on the money line, while the Baltimore Orioles sit +130 with a total of 8.<\/p>\n

The Guardians have advantages across the board in this one, their bullpen and hitting are both far superior. You trust Shane Bieber more than Bruce Zimmerman in general, but he has also been in far better form.<\/p>\n
