Angels vs Blue Jays Analysis<\/h2>\n

The Toronto Blue Jays travel to Angel Stadium to play the Los Angeles Angels, in a battle of right handers with staff ace Alex Manoah taking the bump against Chase Silseth.<\/p>\n

The Jays took game one last night 6-3 behind home runs from Springer, Vlad Jr. and Dan Jansen.<\/p>\n

Blue Jays Preview<\/h3>\n

Toronto has found their hitting groove on this recent road trip, scoring 13 runs the last two games. They’ve made their way out of the bottom 1\/3rd in OPS, up to 19th at .683 with a team average of .232.<\/p>\n

Alex Manoah is the Jays #1 starter and one of the best hurlers in baseball. In eight starts and 50.0 innings, he’s compiled a 1.62 ERA with a 0,88 WHIP and 43 strikeouts, giving up just nine walks and three home runs.<\/p>\n

Manoah has allowed a maximum of two earned runs in every start, which include two against the Yankees and one versus the Astros and the Red Sox.<\/p>\n

Toronto’s staff ERA is ninth best in the majors at 3.48 with a 1.18 WHIP. And their bullpen has pitched a lot better in the last 10 days. The Jays pen and hitters may be one of the late-blooming staffs and teams that could have played better sooner if they had a regular, full-length spring training.<\/p>\n

Angels Preview<\/h3>\n

Although they’ve lost their last two games at home, the Halos are still one of the better teams in the American League. They have a 3rd best OPS of .739 against right handed pitchers, and a 10th best staff ERA of 3.50.<\/p>\n

Starter Chase Silseth has pitched fairly well in his first two major league starts with a 2.61 ERA and 1.06 WHIP in 10.1 innings.<\/p>\n

However, both of those games were against Oakland, one of the worst hitting teams in MLB. Now, he takes a major step up in class against the dangerous Blue Jays.<\/p>\n

Angels vs Blue Jays Prediction<\/h2>\n

The visitors look to have an edge between the starters as Manoah has better numbers and talent than Silseth.<\/p>\n

This is still a dangerous Angels lineup and I can see them getting at least a couple of runs off the Blue Jay”s ace.<\/p>\n

However, the Angels have been bit by the injury bug, Toronto has the edge in the bullpen and they’re hitting better at the plate the last few games. That’s why I’ll take the visitors on the moneyline.<\/p>\n
