Red Sox vs Mariners Analysis<\/h2>\n

The Seattle Mariners and Boston Red Sox will meet at Fenway Park on Friday night for the second game of a four game series.<\/p>\n

The Red Sox doubled up the Mariners 12-6 to take a 1-0 lead in their current series. They were led by Trevor Story in a career highlight game where he hit three home runs.<\/p>\n

The Mariners will turn to last seasons Cy Young award winner Robbie Ray to even the series. He will be opposed by veteran righty Michael Wacha. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 PM EST\/ 4:10 PST.<\/p>\n

Sox Hitting Stride?<\/h3>\n

After a horrible start, the Boston Red Sox may be coming to life as they have prevailed in 6 of their last 9 games. Last night the thumped the Seattle Mariners 12-6.<\/p>\n

Trevor Story had an epic night, going 4 for 4 with 3 homeruns and 7 RBI. J.D. Martinez also went 4 for 5 with three runs scored. Starter Rich Hill only lasted two innings and allowed four earned runs on six hits.<\/p>\n

Boston needs to keep improving offensively as they currently rank only 22nd in runs scored and 14th in batting average. Tonight they will get starter Michael Wacha back from the IL after missing a few weeks with an arm injury. Prior to the injury, Wacha was lights out with a 3-0 record, 1.38 ERA and 0.92 WHIP.<\/p>\n

Seattle Scoring Struggles<\/h3>\n

After last night’s 12-6 loss the Seattle Mariners record dropped to 17-22 on the season. They have now lost 12 of their last 17 games. Last night, rookie starter George Kirby gave up five runs on eight hits in only five innings of work.<\/p>\n

Once he was chased from the game, the bullpen imploded and gave up 7 more runs in the remaining four innings. Julio Rodriguez went 3 for 5 with a solo homerun in 9th inning.<\/p>\n

Seattle has been struggling to score runs, set last night’s six aside as few of those runs were scored after the game was out of hand. In their last series against Toronto they only score 7 runs while getting shutout once. On the season, they rank only 20th in runs scored and 18th in batting average.<\/p>\n

Last seasons American League Cy Young award winner Robbie Ray gets the nod for the Mariners. Ray hasn’t been quite as sharp this season, with 4-3 record with a 4.62 ERA across his eight starts. Rays last start was his worst of the season as he gave up five runs on five hits in a six inning no-decision.<\/p>\n

Red Sox vs Mariners Prediction<\/h2>\n

The Boston Red Sox are favored slightly with a -120 money line, while the Toronto Blue Jays are set at +100 with a total of 9. The Red Sox are coming into this game hot while the Mariners have been struggling.<\/p>\n

There could be light at the end of the tunnel for Boston, after this series they play the Chicago White Sox followed by 10 games against either Baltimore, Oakland or Cincinnati.<\/p>\n

We mentioned how Seattle lost 15 of their last 21 but they have been even worse on the road, losing 10 of the last 14 away from home. Ray has struggled recently and there are plenty of Red Sox hitters with great success against him in the past.<\/p>\n

While their record doesn’t indicate it, I still feel like Boston is the superior team For this price I will make a small play on the Red Sox money line at home.<\/p>\n
