Blue Jays vs Mariners Analysis<\/h2>\n

The Toronto Blue Jays will be in search of a three game sweep over the Seattle Mariners at Rogers Centre on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

The Mariners will hope to salvage a game after losing 6-2 on Monday and being shutout 3-0 last night. The Blue Jays will stay home after this game as they await the arrival of the lowly Cincinnati Reds to start a three game set on Friday night.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile the Mariners will hit the road to begin a four game series in Boston against the Red Sox on Thursday. Toronto ace Kevin Gausman will look to continue his dominant ways, he will be opposed by veteran lefty Marco Gonzales. First pitch is slated for 7:07 PM EST\/ 4:07 PST.<\/p>\n

Scoreless in Seattle<\/h3>\n

After getting shutout last night, the Seattle Mariners have scored a grand total of only two runs in the first two games of this series. They simply cannot string together hits consistently and have proven themselves as one of the most inconsistent offenses in the league.<\/p>\n

They currently rank 20th in runs scored and 18th in batting average. In yesterday’s loss they only had one extra-base hit, a double by Eugenio Saurez.<\/p>\n

Starter Logan Gilbert threw well enough to get a victory but took the loss due to lack of run support. Gilbert allowed three runs on six hits across seven innings while striking out nine.<\/p>\n

Seattle will turn to southpaw Marco Gonzales to try and sneak out a Toronto with a victory. Gonzales is 1-4 with a 3.38 ERA and 1.53 WHIP which is one of the worst on the team.<\/p>\n

Jays Enjoy Some Home Cooking<\/h3>\n

After returning home from a brutal 2-7 road trip, this has been the perfect get right series for the Toronto Blue Jays. On Wednesday night they will look to complete a three game sweep of the Seattle Mariners after shutting them out 3-0 on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Jose Berrios spun seven scoreless innings while allowing six hits while striking out four and earning his third victory of the season. Leadoff man George Springer drove in all three runs on a rare triple.<\/p>\n

The Jays are currently three games above .500 at 20-17, not a horrible start but not exactly what they expected. Their offense looks amazing on paper, yet they rank only 22nd in runs scored and 15th in batting average.<\/p>\n

Kevin Gausman will get the start with hopes of completing the sweep on Wednesday night. He’s been brilliant thus far, with a 3-2 record, 2.40 ERA and 0.98 WHIP. He has been consistent in his seven starts, never throwing less than five innings or allowing more than three runs.<\/p>\n

Blue Jays vs Mariners Prediction<\/h2>\n

The Toronto Blue Jays are heavy favorites with a -250 money line, with the Seattle Mariners at +200 and total of 8. The Blue Jays are in a great position to complete the sweep.<\/p>\n

Kevin Gausman should be able to easily navigate his way through the feeble Seattle bats. Their potent lineup should be able to do some major damage against Marco Gonzales.<\/p>\n

While Gonzales numbers look great on the surface, his expected ERA is over two runs higher than his ERA at 5.64 compared to 3.38. Both teams have lackluster bullpens but I fully expect Gausman to go deeper into the game than Gonzales.<\/p>\n

Obviously we aren’t going to play a -250 money line, let’s lay the -1.5 run line at -110 odds for better value.<\/p>\n
