Red Sox vs Astros Analysis<\/h2>\n

The Houston Astros and Boston Red Sox meet for the 2nd game of three game series from Fenway Park on Tuesday night. After losing last seasons American League Championship series to Houston, Boston got a small measure of revenge with a 6-3 victory last night.<\/p>\n

The game went late due to a rain delay that lasted nearly two hours. Sox ace Nathan Eovaldi gets the nod for Boston, while the Astros turn Jose Urquidy. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 PM EST for this TBS TV game.<\/p>\n

Can Sox Carry Momentum?<\/h3>\n

The Boston Red Sox could be starting to come to life as they doubled up the Astros 6-3 last night after winning two of three against the Texas Rangers. These teams were tied up 2-2 heading into the 7th inning when the skies opened up at Fenway Park.<\/p>\n

The tarp was brought out and a rain delay that lasted over an hour and a half ensued. When they returned to action, each team scored a run in the 7th before Boston’s decisive three run 8th inning rally. JD Martinez rocked a double, driving in what proved to be the game winning run.<\/p>\n

Xander Bogaerts then showed Red Sox management why they should re-sign him with a two run blast. The problem with the Red Sox offense is they are getting tons of production from their big three of Martinez, Bogaerts and Rafael Devers but little to nothing from the rest of the batting order.<\/p>\n

Red Sox Nation hopes their ace Nathan Eovaldi can lock up another victory. Eovaldi is 1-1 with a 3.15 ERA across seven starts. He hasn’t allowed more than three runs and only pitched less than five innings once in those games.<\/p>\n

Astros Track Down Angels in A.L. West<\/h3>\n

The Houston Astros came into Boston on fire, winning 12 of their last 13 games. Last night they lost their second of their last three games 6-3 against the Red Sox.<\/p>\n

Starting pitcher Jake Odorizzi pitched well as he allowed only one run in five innings pitched. However, he was unfortunately carted off the field in the 6th inning with what looked to be a serious achilles injury after attempting to cover first base.<\/p>\n

Chas McCormick was the offensive standout, going two for three with a solo blast in the 4th inning. After a tough start offensively, the Astros bats have heated up which resulted in the extended winning streak.<\/p>\n

They rank 7th in the league with a .718 OPS, resulting in 4.4 runs a game. Jose Urquidy will toe the rubber for Houston on Tuesday night. His season has been a mixed bag that has resulted in a 2-1 record with a 4.40 ERA.<\/p>\n

Red Sox vs Astros Prediction<\/h2>\n

This game is close to a pick’em with the Boston Red Sox at -120 and the Houston Astros at +100 with the total set at 8.5. If both these lineups were firing on all cylinders it would be a no doubt over play.<\/p>\n

However that isn’t the case and both starting pitchers have had some success against the opposing lineup. The Astros have been able to win games despite having small totals.<\/p>\n

The under is 14-6-4 in Red Sox last 24 games. I don’t have a strong feeling on either side, but let’s keep the bullpens out of it and take a first inning under 4.5.<\/p>\n
