White Sox vs Guardians Analysis<\/h2>\n

The Cleveland Guardians travel to Chicago to open a three game A.L. Central series with the White Sox on Monday evening. The Guardians took home a 4-3 comeback victory over the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday afternoon to win the series 3-1.<\/p>\n

The White Sox swept the Boston Red Sox in a weekend series from Fenway Park. Zach Plesac will toe the rubber for Cleveland, while Michael Kopech gets the nod for the White Sox. First pitch is scheduled for 8:10 PM EST from Guaranteed Rate Field.<\/p>\n

White Sox Turning Season Around<\/h3>\n

After getting swept by the Cleveland Guardians in first series of the season between these teams, the White Sox know that it will be crucial to set the tone in the first game of this series.<\/p>\n

They had a sluggish start to 2022, which was concerning for a team expected to cruise through the A.L. Central. However after an excellent series in Boston, they have won six straight games and battled back to .500.<\/p>\n

Yesterday they edged out the Boston Red Sox 3-2 to complete the sweep. The aging veteran Dallas Keuchel actually held his own with only two runs allowed on 8 hits across six innings. Jose Abreu drove in two runs with a double in the 3rd inning.<\/p>\n

Tonight they will turn to the youngster Michael Kopech with hopes to continue their winning streak against a division rival.<\/p>\n

Guardians Riding Wave Of Momentum<\/h3>\n

The Guardians looked great in April when they swept their division rivals the Chicago White Sox. They will be hoping for the same result which set the tone in head-to-head meetings moving forward.<\/p>\n

The Guardians have now won four of their last five and seven of their last nine games to improve to 14-14 on the season. Cleveland has been a force offensively, as they rank 3rd in runs scored and 7th in OPS.<\/p>\n

Jose Ramirez has feasted early in the season with seven home runs and 30 RBI. They snuck out a 4-3 victory over Toronto on Sunday to win the series 3-1.<\/p>\n

The bullpen handled their business after rookie starter Konnor Pilkington only lasted 3.2 innings. Veteran slugger Franmil Reyes went 3 for 4 while scoring a run. Zach Plesac will take the mound for the Guardians on Monday night.<\/p>\n

Plesac hasn’t been very consistent so far this season. He is 1-3 with a 4.44 ERA and 1.41 WHIP after two straight horrible starts.<\/p>\n

White Sox vs Guardians Prediction<\/h2>\n

The money line is set at -180 for the Chicago White and +155 for the Cleveland Guardians with a total of 7.5. Both are playing some of their best baseball of the season. The White Sox seem to have a slight starting pitching advantage, but the Guardians have the edge offensively.<\/p>\n

We mentioned how potent the Cleveland bats have been, as they rank #1 in wRC+ against right-handed pitching. Michael Kopechs numbers look good on the surface with a 1.17 ERA. However, he has an xFIP of 4.30 which means he is due for regression.<\/p>\n

When Kopech leaves the game, he will turn things over bullpen that is average at best. We can get the Guardians team total at only 3.5 at +110.<\/p>\n

I feel pretty confident they can score 4 runs, especially since we are guaranteed a full nine innings of at bats on the road. The +110 odds is just the cherry on top.<\/p>\n
