Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid Analysis<\/h2>\n

Real Madrid takes on Atletico on Sunday after securing a trip to this year\u2019s Champions League final in Paris against Liverpool.<\/p>\n

Trailing by two goals heading into stoppage time, an unbelievable Rodrygo double in the 90th and 91st minutes gave Madrid the lifeline they needed to push the tie into extra time, and who else but Karim Benzema finished the show with a 95th minute penalty to seal the win for Madrid.<\/span><\/p>\n

Real Madrid won the reverse fixture 2-0 at home against Atletico back in December with goals coming from Benzema and Asensio to secure the win for \u2018Los Blancos\u2019.<\/p>\n

Real Madrid Earn Some Much Needed Rest<\/h3>\n

After officially wrapping up the league title last week against Espanyol and preparing for the huge Champions League final against Liverpool on May 28th (a repeat of their 2018 clash), there really isn\u2019t a whole lot for Madrid to play for in this game despite the fact it\u2019s an historic \u2018El Derbi\u2019 against city rivals Atletico Madrid in the Spanish capital.<\/p>\n

After a tough start to the season which saw last year\u2019s Spanish champions Atletico lose four straight league games in December to effectively kiss their chances of an historic repeat of their La Liga success goodbye, Atletico bounced back in March with six straight wins and looked to have steadied the ship in the race for Europe.<\/p>\n

However, just one win over their last six games in all (two of which came in the Champions League), has seen the race for the top four heat up as both Real Betis and Real Sociedad look to capitalize on Atletico\u2019s recent poor form and possibly take that final Champions League spot from Atletico in the close out to the season.<\/p>\n

You simply have to look towards taking Atletico Madrid this weekend to win this game as they look to secure the fourth Champions League spot against an unmotivated Real Madrid team on Sunday.<\/p>\n
