Mariners vs Rays Analysis<\/h2>\n

The Tampa Bay Rays visit T-Mobile Park to play the Seattle Mariners in the second of a four game set. The Rays took game one 4-0, and Seattle looks to even the series. Matt Wisler takes the hill as the Rays’ opener against right-hander Logan Gilbert.<\/p>\n

Rays Preview<\/h3>\n

Tampa continues to be road warriors, winning Thursday night after taking three games in Oakland. The Rays have exceeded expectations this year with their 16-10 record, after losing some key players to free agency.<\/p>\n

And this club has done it for the past several years: Get the most out of their talent and contend for the playoffs just about every season.<\/p>\n

While the Rays are known for pitching, their hitting has also been in the top half of MLB, with an 11th best OPS of .702 and batting average of .243.<\/p>\n

Mariners Preview<\/h3>\n

Seattle has struggled to score recently, only plating two runs in their last four games. Their season-long numbers are average, with a 16th-best OPS of .688, but the M’s have a short-term power outage at the plate.<\/p>\n

Starter Logan Gilbert has pitched very well to start the year. In five starts, the right-hander is 4-0 in 28.0 innings with a .0.64 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 27 strikeouts.<\/p>\n

Mariners vs Rays Prediction<\/h2>\n

With the Rays’ staff against Logan Gilbert, this should be a low-scoring game. The Mariners have struggled on offense in recent games, and the Seattle southpaw should keep Tampa Bay’s bats in check. That’s why I’ll take the full game under.<\/p>\n
