Seattle Kraken vs Colorado Avalanche Analysis<\/h2>\n

The Colorado Avalanche come into Wednesday\u2019s game coming off only their fifth home loss of the season so far in what has been an exceptional year on the ice for the Mile High team.<\/p>\n

They face a Seattle Kraken team on Wednesday however that are playing some of their best hockey of the season also, with back-to-back wins now over Ottawa and New Jersey respectively as they go for their third straight win of the season tonight, a feat they\u2019ve yet to accomplish.<\/p>\n

Colorado has taken both of the head-to-head matchups against the Kraken this season, although both came in vastly different fashions.<\/p>\n

The Avalanche blew the Kraken completely out of the water in their first meeting back in November where Colorado took a 7-0 lead before some late consolation goals came in for the Kraken.<\/p>\n

However, the Avalanche faced a much stiffer test back at the start of January on home ice as they were forced to mount a late comeback in that game to escape with a close win.<\/p>\n

Colorado Looks to Put New Streak Together<\/h3>\n

The Colorado Avalanche have put up not just one, but two 9+ game winning streaks over 2022 so far and they\u2019ll look to start another one here on Wednesday as they look to lift the President\u2019s Trophy for the second straight season.<\/p>\n

A lot of that success has been built on Colorado\u2019s outstanding offense this year which ranks #1 this season in total power play goals and #3 in overall scoring as well averaging 3.84 goals per game.<\/p>\n

Kraken Very Tight Defensively<\/h3>\n

While the goalies haven\u2019t always been doing their job in Seattle, this Kraken defense certainly has as Seattle rank 3rd in the league this season on total opponent shots allowed per game, and seem to be getting even better with each passing game.<\/p>\n

Seattle allowed just 14 shots total to the Ottawa Senators in Monday night\u2019s game and have averaged just 25.8 shots per game to opponents over their last five starts also, two of which came against the Calgary Flames.<\/p>\n

Seattle Kraken vs Colorado Avalanche Prediction<\/h2>\n

We like the Colorado Avalanche to bounceback with a win and cover tonight against Seattle as they likely win this one by margin here on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The Seattle Kraken have actually been undervalued on the season as a whole, posting a -33 expected differential this year, 2nd from bottom in the league, and rank 4th in the league on expected goals against on defense as well.<\/p>\n

However, with Philipp Grubauer expected back in nets tonight for the Kraken we can only look one way as the German goalie has been simply awful this season, posting a -23.13 GSAA average (69th\/bottom of the league), has a sub .900 SV% on the season and allowed a massive 23 goals over the month of April also.<\/p>\n

So against this hi-powered Colorado Avalanche side tonight, as good as the rest of this Seattle defense has played, we can see only one winner later tonight.<\/p>\n
