Manchester City vs Liverpool Analysis<\/h2>\n

One of the games of the season so far takes place over in the EPL this Sunday in Manchester as 2nd placed Liverpool take on league leaders Manchester City in a showdown that could well end up deciding the Premier League title winner this season.<\/p>\n

Manchester City lead Liverpool by a single point, but have a worse overall goal difference than the Reds, so things couldn\u2019t be any tighter between the two teams this season.<\/p>\n

Both sides had a thrilling 2-2 draw earlier in the season with Manchester City coming from behind twice in that game to take a share of the spoils at Anfield.<\/p>\n

Liverpool\u2019s Potentially Historic Season<\/h3>\n

After a comfortable 3-1 victory over Benfica in midweek, Liverpool still have all their plates spinning in regards to winning an historic quadruple this season.<\/p>\n

The Reds won the League Cup back in February against Chelsea. They face Manchester City again next week in the FA Cup semi-final.<\/p>\n

They hold a commanding lead heading into leg two against Benfica at home in the Champions League as well, and they\u2019re still right in the hunt for the Premier League title also this season, with Sunday\u2019s game against City potentially going a long way in securing that.<\/p>\n

Manchester City Peaking At The Right Time?<\/h3>\n

After a somewhat brittle spell over the last month or two which saw City drop points against Crystal Palace, Southampton and Tottenham, and effectively allowing Liverpool back into the title race, the Cityzens have looked a lot more composed at the back over recent games, keeping six clean sheets over their last eight matches in all.<\/p>\n

And that composure will be put to the test here as City will no doubt feel they should have already wrapped up the Premier League title this season, holding a 14 point advantage at one point in the season and a full 11 points over Liverpool at the start of February also before some underwhelming performances allowed Liverpool to get back in the title race once again.<\/p>\n

Manchester City vs Liverpool Prediction<\/h2>\n

With so much on the line here on Sunday it\u2019s quite possible both teams end up cancelling each other out in this one.<\/p>\n

Both teams have just been so evenly matched over the last few seasons, but especially this season, where they alternately rank #1 & #2 respectively right across the board on pretty much every positive Premier League stat this year.<\/p>\n

Manchester City smashed Liverpool 4-1 last season, but that was a somewhat misleading result as three of Manchester City\u2019s four goals in that game came over the final twenty minutes of play. Add on the fact that Liverpool were basically at half-strength throughout most of last season employing a makeshift defense and the Reds look a completely different, and much more formidable outfit this year.<\/p>\n

Outside of that 4-1 result, two of their other three most recent head-to-head\u2019s have finished in draws and that\u2019s what we\u2019re expecting here on Sunday as well.<\/p>\n

With both teams in such great form right now, and a loss potentially handing the title to their rivals, expect both sides to play a little more cautiously here and take the draw if offered late on as a decent result for both sides.<\/p>\n

Back the outright at +272 on Sunday between Liverpool and Manchester City over in the EPL.<\/p>\n
