Detroit Pistons vs Dallas Mavericks Analysis<\/h2>\n

The Dallas Mavericks hit the streets of Detroit for an interconference matchup with the Pistons. The Pistons won their third straight game in Indiana over the Pacers 121-117.<\/p>\n

The Mavs are coming off an impressive 118-112 triumph over the Bucks in Milwaukee. Dallas currently sits at 4th place in the Western Conference with three games remaining on their schedule. The Mavericks smashed the Pistons 116-86 in their lone head-to-head meeting in February.<\/p>\n

Pistons Going for Fourth Straight Victory<\/h3>\n

For the second year in a row, the Pistons will be finishing near the bottom of the Eastern Conference and eyeing a lottery pick come draft time.<\/p>\n

They currently have the third worst record in the NBA, but haven’t given up as they have won three straight games.<\/p>\n

In their latest victory Saddiq Bey led the Pistons in scoring with 31 points. Bey is the only Piston player to compete in all 79 games this season while averaging 16.3 points per game. Straight up, the Pistons record is not impressive whatsoever.<\/p>\n

However they have been a spread covering machine of late with a 19-2-1 ATS record, including covers in their last five games.<\/p>\n

On the season they have a strong ATS record at 45-34. Kelly Olynyk, Rodney Marvin Bagley III and Corey Joseph have all been ruled out for this contest.<\/p>\n

Detroit has struggled to score all season with an average of only 105 points a game that ranks 28th in the league. Defensively they have been slightly better as they rank 20th with an average of 112 points allowed per game.<\/p>\n

Mavericks Close In On Home Court Advantage In First Round<\/h3>\n

With three games remaining on their regular season schedule, the Dallas Mavericks sit at fourth place in the Western Conference, one game behind the Golden State Warriors and two games ahead of the Utah Jazz.<\/p>\n

The Mavericks have won four of their last five games as they fight for home court advantage in the first round of the post-season.<\/p>\n

In their most recent victory over the Milwaukee Bucks Luka Doncic led the team with 32 points and 15 assists. Doncic has had an incredible season, he ranks fourth in the NBA with 28.3 points a game and fifth with 8.7 assists a game.<\/p>\n

Defensively the Mavericks stack up as well as any team in the league, as they rank 2nd with only 105 points allowed per game to their opponents.<\/p>\n

Dallas ranks 26th in scoring with only 107 points a game on the season. However they have improved recently with an average of 117 points over their last five games.<\/p>\n

Detroit Pistons vs Dallas Mavericks Prediction<\/h2>\n

The Dallas Mavericks are 9.5 point road favorites with a total set at 221.5. The Pistons have lost a ton of games this season, but are 20-12-1 against the spread as a home underdog this season.<\/p>\n

Everyone knows about their ATS success over their last 22 games with that stellar 19-2-1 record. The Mavericks are a clearly superior team, but have struggled on the road in recent weeks going 2-5 ATS in their last seven games.<\/p>\n

Another factor that could stop Dallas from covering is they play at the slowest pace in the league. I really like the Pistons in this spot but almost can’t decide between them or the under. This game does pit two of the worst scoring offenses in the league at 26th and 28th.<\/p>\n

The Mavericks have the 2nd best scoring defense and the under is 8-1-2 in the Pistons last 11 home games. We usually only give one pick, but I really love both these spots. Take Detroit with the points and the under.<\/p>\n
