Sweden vs Czech Republic Analysis<\/h2>\n

After opening with four wins from their first five games back in the group stage, including a huge win against group favorites Spain in September, Sweden looked in a commanding position mid-way through the group stage to potentially cause the upset and top the group.<\/p>\n

However, a four-game winning run to close out the group for Spain combined with Sweden dropping both of their final two group games saw their respective positions change and Sweden are now forced into a pivotal playoff clash against the Czech Republic on Thursday in order to qualify for this year\u2019s World Cup proper.<\/p>\n

Czech Republic, for their part, finished third in their group, which would usually mean elimination. However, their excellent UEFA Nations League placement means they get a second chance into the playoffs as they look to build on a current five-game unbeaten run entering Thursday\u2019s game.<\/p>\n

Czech Republic\u2019s Ongoing Injury Crisis<\/h3>\n

This match arguably couldn\u2019t have come at a worse time for Czech Republic right now as they continue to deal with a serious ongoing injury crisis.<\/p>\n

West Ham right-back Vladimir Coufal looks highly doubtful for this game as does Burnley forward Matej Vydra, and that will leave the Czech\u2019s extremely short up top as they\u2019ll also be without star striker Patrik Schick ahead of Thursday\u2019s clash as well.<\/p>\n

Sweden\u2019s Mix of Youth and Experience<\/h3>\n

Sweden aren\u2019t without injuries and suspensions of their own ahead of this one also, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Emil Krafth both out through recent suspensions.<\/p>\n

However, the Swedes have talent to call upon, especially in the likes of young Manchester United forward Anthony Elanga who scored a pivotal goal against Atletico Madrid over in Spain last month.<\/p>\n

Sweden vs Czech Republic Prediction<\/h2>\n

While you could make the case the Czech Republic are actually the hotter team entering Thursday\u2019s contest with the Czechs’ unbeaten over their last five while the Swedish have lost three of their last five, those two losses for Sweden came on the road and they\u2019re frankly a much different proposition at home.<\/p>\n

Sweden has won nine-straight games at home with five of those nine wins coming via defensive shutouts as well so Sweden has shown themselves to be an incredibly difficult team to break down at the best of times, especially at home, and without two of their best forwards available to them for this game, that looks an even more daunting task facing the Czech Republic on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Both a Swedish victory and the under 2.25 goals<\/strong> look like good value here and we\u2019re happy to keep them both onside in what should be a routine, low scoring win for Sweden against the Czech Republic on Thursday.<\/p>\n
