From what I’ve seen, his speed looks pretty good, and while he doesn’t throw a ton of volume, he does have legitimate punching power.

Thomson has more experience, but the competition he’s faced has been absolutely terrible. I’m not impressed with his defensive guard, and he has a tendency to brawl while leaving his chin wide open.

He’s not particularly polished, and he fights with a cockiness that his skill level doesn’t justify. I think Murray has enough speed and power to take advantage of those defensive mistakes. There’s plenty of risk with an inexperienced fighter, but at plus money, I’m willing to take a shot. Murray at +124 is the underdog pick, worth a small sprinkle.

Danny Moir (-164) vs Rhys Pagan (+134)

Pagan hasn’t fought in nine years, and there’s very little recent footage available, so it’s difficult to know exactly what version of him we’re going to see. That kind of inactivity creates a lot of uncertainty, especially in bare-knuckle boxing.

Moir has some decent punching power and is fairly light on his feet, but he holds his hands low and gets hit far too easily. His defensive weaknesses could become a problem against someone with Pagan’s boxing experience.

Pagan has a ton of boxing fights on his résumé, and that experience is what makes him interesting here. I don’t have a strong opinion because of the lengthy layoff, but I think the price makes the underdog worth considering. Pagan at +134 is the slight lean.

Lewis Knox (-280) vs Tommy Carus (+215)

This is a pretty easy matchup to handicap. Knox is quick, has excellent feints, and reacts extremely well to his opponents’ punches. His movement is sharp, his hand speed is impressive, and he has a deceptively long reach that allows him to land shots while staying out of danger.

Carus is sloppy, has terrible striking defense, and was knocked down multiple times in his last fight. He doesn’t move particularly well and leaves himself open to getting hit clean.

That’s a major problem against someone with Knox’s speed and accuracy. I expect Knox to control the exchanges and consistently beat Carus to the punch. Lewis Knox at -280 is the easy pick.

Dan Morel (-166) vs Owen Webster (+132)

Webster’s biggest problem is his durability. In his last fight, he was completely worn down by the third round and couldn’t handle the damage he was taking. His striking was nothing special, and I just don’t trust his ability to survive when an opponent starts putting pressure on him.

Morel is a brawler who is tough as nails. He can absorb a tremendous amount of punishment and continue throwing punches, even when he’s taking clean shots himself.

Neither fighter has particularly good defense, so I expect plenty of exchanges and both guys getting hit. The difference is that Morel has shown he can handle adversity, while Webster has struggled when fights get difficult. Morel at -166 is the pick.

Cory Chapman (-220) vs Lewis Dixon (+174)

Dixon is extremely raw and doesn’t have much experience. He hasn’t shown that he’s particularly good at any one thing, and all of his fighting experience has come with traditional boxing gloves. Making the transition to bare knuckle is going to be difficult, especially against someone who brings as much aggression as Chapman.

Chapman is wild and fights with tremendous energy. His defense isn’t very good, and he can be knocked down when he gets caught clean, but he has legitimate punching power and has shown the ability to damage and knock out opponents. Dixon is significantly slower, and I don’t think he’ll be able to handle Chapman’s speed and aggression. Chapman at -220 is the pick.

Doalty Torrance (-138) vs KJ Metcalfe (+114)

Both guys are decent fighters, but I really like Torrance’s aggressiveness. He comes out applying pressure immediately, forcing opponents to absorb damage and survive his early attacks. He doesn’t give opponents much time to get comfortable, and that relentless approach can make fights difficult right from the opening bell.

Metcalfe is durable, but I’m concerned about how much damage he’ll absorb in the first round. Even if he survives the initial pressure, he could be badly compromised heading into the later rounds. I think Torrance’s aggression and ability to land damaging shots early will be the difference. Torrance at -138 is the pick.

Barry Boyle (-138) vs Kaseem Saleem (+114)

Saleem is a big, aggressive brawler with good striking ability, particularly when he’s working in the clinch. He can be dangerous early, but his cardio is a major concern. He’s lost two straight fights by fourth-round knockout, and when fights extend into the later rounds, his conditioning becomes a serious problem.

Boyle is an extremely tough fighter who has shown he can go the distance. His defense isn’t great, and I expect him to get hit early, but he’s durable enough to weather that initial storm.

Once this fight gets beyond the second round, I think the momentum will shift dramatically. Saleem should start slowing down, while Boyle will still have the energy to apply pressure and land punches. Boyle at -138 is the pick, with a late finish over a tired Saleem a strong possibility.

Kieron Sewell (-138) vs Scott Malone (+114) Malone comes from an MMA background, having competed in Cage Warriors, but I wasn’t particularly impressed with his striking. He had lost three straight fights before his lengthy layoff and hasn’t competed in a couple of years. That inactivity is another concern heading into a bare knuckle matchup.

Sewell looks much more like a natural boxer. He already has BKFC experience, and his boxing technique is significantly better on both offense and defense. He looks more comfortable throwing punches, protecting himself, and working in striking exchanges. I think that technical advantage will be the deciding factor here. Sewell at -138 is the pick.

Gzim Selmani (-260) vs Reece Heer (+200)

Heer has been getting some boxing experience, but he still looks like a complete novice. He’s big and slow, doesn’t throw much volume, and doesn’t seem to have significant punching power.

He spends far too much time covering up and protecting his head without offering much offense in return. At times, he looks like someone competing in his very first fight.

Selmani is considerably faster and much more aggressive on the feet. He can be reckless when he charges forward, leaving himself open to counters, but Heer isn’t the type of fighter who can consistently exploit those mistakes.

The advantages in speed, accuracy, and power all belong to Selmani, and I expect him to overwhelm Heer with his offense. Selmani at -260 is the easy pick.

Stevie Ray (-160) vs Danny Christie (+128)

Stevie Ray comes from an MMA background, and his last fight was a submission victory in PFL. I actually thought that might have been the final fight of his career. He was always much more effective with his grappling and submissions than with his striking, which raises questions about how well he’ll transition to bare-knuckle boxing.

Christie doesn’t have a great BKFC record, but he’s faced good competition and has considerably more experience in this specific style of fighting.

I think he’s the better pure boxer, and that experience should make a difference against someone who spent most of his career relying on grappling. Ray won’t have the option of taking this fight to the ground, and I like Christie to take advantage of that. Christie at +128 is the underdog pick.

BKFC 96 Glasgow Main Event: Sean Weir (-230) vs Leigh Cohoon (+184)

Weir gets hit quite a bit and has been cut and knocked down early in fights, but he’s shown excellent recovery ability. He doesn’t panic when he gets hurt, and he’s capable of coming back and landing damaging shots of his own. His defense isn’t perfect, but he’s dangerous offensively and has proven he can fight through adversity.

Cohoon is even more vulnerable defensively. He doesn’t move as well as Weir, leaves himself open to clean punches, and I think he’s significantly overmatched in the power department.

Weir is from Scotland, and with this event taking place in his home country, it looks like a matchup designed to give him an opportunity for an exciting knockout in front of the home crowd. I expect Weir to have the advantage in the exchanges and eventually land something big. Weir at -230 is the pick, with a knockout finish the likely outcome.

**************************************************

Looking for more free sports picks and sports betting tips?

Latest Betting Odds and Public Action: Vegas lines updated in real time, including who the public is betting on.

Last Minute Handicapping Advice: Check out our extensive library of handicapping tips and advice from professional Vegas handicappers (we also recommend taking the time to look over our sports betting tips video library)

Want an expert opinion? Check out the latest Free Sports Picks and Best Bets from our team of expert sports handicappers.

Make sure to bookmark all the above!

BKFC 96 Glasgow Betting Preview Including Best Bets WagerTalk handicapper Andy Lang gives his BKFC 96 Glasgow predictions and picks for November 7 with Sean Weir vs Leigh Cohoon headlining in the main event. Dixon is significantly slower, and I don't think he'll be able to handle Chapman's speed and aggression. Chapman at -220 is the pick.

Doalty Torrance (-138) vs KJ Metcalfe (+114)

Both guys are decent fighters, but I really like Torrance's aggressiveness. He comes out applying pressure immediately, forcing opponents to absorb damage and survive his early attacks. He doesn't give opponents much time to get comfortable, and that relentless approach can make fights difficult right from the opening bell.

Metcalfe is durable, but I'm concerned about how much damage he'll absorb in the first round. Even if he survives the initial pressure, he could be badly compromised heading into the later rounds. I think Torrance's aggression and ability to land damaging shots early will be the difference. Torrance at -138 is the pick.

Barry Boyle (-138) vs Kaseem Saleem (+114)

Saleem is a big, aggressive brawler with good striking ability, particularly when he's working in the clinch. He can be dangerous early, but his cardio is a major concern. He's lost two straight fights by fourth-round knockout, and when fights extend into the later rounds, his conditioning becomes a serious problem.

Boyle is an extremely tough fighter who has shown he can go the distance. His defense isn't great, and I expect him to get hit early, but he's durable enough to weather that initial storm.

Once this fight gets beyond the second round, I think the momentum will shift dramatically. Saleem should start slowing down, while Boyle will still have the energy to apply pressure and land punches. Boyle at -138 is the pick, with a late finish over a tired Saleem a strong possibility.

Kieron Sewell (-138) vs Scott Malone (+114) Malone comes from an MMA background, having competed in Cage Warriors, but I wasn't particularly impressed with his striking. He had lost three straight fights before his lengthy layoff and hasn't competed in a couple of years.

He's big and slow, doesn't throw much volume, and doesn't seem to have significant punching power.

He spends far too much time covering up and protecting his head without offering much offense in return. At times, he looks like someone competing in his very first fight.

Selmani is considerably faster and much more aggressive on the feet. He can be reckless when he charges forward, leaving himself open to counters, but Heer isn't the type of fighter who can consistently exploit those mistakes.

He was always much more effective with his grappling and submissions than with his striking, which raises questions about how well he'll transition to bare-knuckle boxing.

Christie doesn't have a great BKFC record, but he's faced good competition and has considerably more experience in this specific style of fighting.

I think he's the better pure boxer, and that experience should make a difference against someone who spent most of his career relying on grappling. Ray won't have the option of taking this fight to the ground, and I like Christie to take advantage of that. Christie at +128 is the underdog pick.

BKFC 96 Glasgow Main Event: Sean Weir (-230) vs Leigh Cohoon (+184)

Weir gets hit quite a bit and has been cut and knocked down early in fights, but he's shown excellent recovery ability. He doesn't panic when he gets hurt, and he's capable of coming back and landing damaging shots of his own. His defense isn't perfect, but he's dangerous offensively and has proven he can fight through adversity.

Cohoon is even more vulnerable defensively. He doesn't move as well as Weir, leaves himself open to clean punches, and I think he's significantly overmatched in the power department.

Make sure to bookmark all the above!

["GET
