It’s been an admittedly underwhelming season for Gunnar Henderson but he’s coming off a game where he went 3-4 with a home run and triple. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now Henderson gets another crack at Max Scherzer who he’s gone 4-10 (.400) against with a double and a free pass. Scherzer is coming off a serviceable outing, but he’s still allowed 10 earned runs across 15.2 September innings of work resulting in a 5.74 ERA. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Blue Jays bullpen ranks 9th in ERA (3.43) during the last 30 days but they could be due for some regression as they rank 20th in FIP (4.37) during the same span of time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gunnar has had short term success against multiple Blue Jay relievers including their closer Louis Varland who he’s gone 2-5 (.400) against. Let’s look for another big game out of Henderson while playing at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now he gets another opportunity to feast on Robbie Ray who he’s gone 6-15 (.400) against with two home runs and two doubles. Ray has struggled in the month of September while posting an 8.78 ERA across 13.1 innings of work and he struggled in a start against Los Angeles when he was pitching with the San Francisco Giants. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tucker isn’t the only Dodger slugger who’s thrived against Ray as they have hit .259 with a .924 OPS and 15 home runs across a large sample size of 223 plate appearances. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tucker has covered this line in 4 of his last 6 games, and I fully expect another strong effort against a pitcher who he’s thrived against in the past.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
