DWCS Week 6 Predictions<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Igor Cavalcanti (-335) vs Oscar Ravello (+273) <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cavalcanti was massive at the faceoffs, and he\u2019s a dynamic, powerful striker. He was on Contender Series last year and came out way too fast and excited, burned through his gas tank,\u00a0and got finished in the second round. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He\u2019s won two fights since then, although the ground game\u00a0 remains a major weakness. Ravello doesn\u2019t seem to have the power to keep up with Cavalcanti\u00a0 on the feet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Ravello can get this fight to the ground, things could get interesting, but Cavalcanti\u00a0throws with so much power that he may only need to land a couple of clean shots. Cavalcanti is\u00a0 the pick, likely by finish.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Akbar Abdullaev (-1500) vs Edmilson Santos (+1000) <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abdullaev is undefeated coming over from ONE Championship, and he can do everything. He\u00a0has a great ground game, solid striking, and while he can get off to sluggish starts, once he finds\u00a0his groove he becomes relentless with the clinch and wrestling before going to work with\u00a0ground-and-pound. Santos is simply outmatched here. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

His striking isn\u2019t anywhere near\u00a0 dangerous enough to make Abdullaev hesitant about entering the pocket, initiating the clinch,\u00a0 and getting the takedown. Abdullaev should dominate this fight.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hugo Guillon (-165) vs Luis Hernandez (+140) <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Neither of these guys impresses me. Hernandez gets tired after the first round and has benefited\u00a0from facing opponents who got even more tired than he did. All of his wins are finishes, but he\u2019s\u00a0also gotten off to slow starts, and I\u2019m not really sure what he does particularly well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guillon was\u00a0really big at the faceoffs, has powerful strikes, and has shown some ability on the ground, although I expect him to keep this standing and use his size and reach. Both guys have plenty of\u00a0 holes, and while the value on the side is probably Hernandez at +140, I prefer the under in\u00a0this fight.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tyshawn Williams (-325) vs Antonio Monteiro (+265) <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Monteiro wants to get fights to the ground and hunt submissions, but if he can\u2019t get the takedown, he\u2019s in trouble. Williams has a good ground game himself, which gives him an answer\u00a0for Monteiro\u2019s biggest strength, and there\u2019s a major difference when they\u2019re standing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Williams\u00a0 is much faster and considerably crisper with his strikes. He looks like the real deal and has the\u00a0 skill set to neutralize what Monteiro does best. Williams is the easy pick.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

DWCS Week 6 Main Event: Zevan Hunt vs Mayton Perea<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Hunt wants to get this fight to the ground. His striking isn\u2019t great, and he gets tired pretty quickly\u00a0when he\u2019s forced to work on the feet, but his wrestling cardio is much better. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He doesn\u2019t look overly physical or strong, but he\u2019s shown he can hold his own once he gets into his wrestling\u00a0game. Perea should be the better striker, and his path is pretty simple\u2014keep the fight standing\u00a0 and don\u2019t let Hunt control him on the ground. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hunt is a tough fighter to figure out, so I don\u2019t\u00a0have a strong opinion on the side. I\u2019ll pick Perea at plus money, but the under is probably the\u00a0better way to play this fight.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
