He spends a lot of time waiting for the perfect opening rather than producing consistent volume.

He does a good job maintaining distance, has some solid kicks and tends to pounce once he finally lands the big shot he’s looking for. The approach has worked, but the lack of activity concerns me against an opponent who can push a consistent pace.

Reginaldo Junior has faced good competition in LFA and has shown excellent cardio and durability. He’s a solid striker, can mix in takedowns and is capable of controlling opponents once the fight gets to the ground.

He may not look physically imposing, but he just finds ways to win. There’s a lot of heart and grit in his game, and his activity should give Moreno problems.

Junior is my kind of fighter, and at plus money, Reginaldo Junior +125 is the pick.

Martin Kozak (-345) vs. Christian Echols (+278)

Martin Kozak has excellent height and length and throws some very good kicks, but I’d like to see significantly more volume from him. He spends too much time feinting without actually unloading his offense. I’ve also seen him give up control time against the fence, although he does have a solid ground game when the fight gets there.

Christian Echols’ résumé is the much bigger concern. He has faced truly awful competition, and nothing I’ve seen from him suggests that he has high-level striking, wrestling, grappling or cardio. He lost to a 3-0 opponent, then turned around and beat a 1-12 fighter, and now he’s getting an opportunity on Contender Series.

Kozak isn’t perfect, but he’s clearly the pick here. Echols simply hasn’t shown enough against legitimate competition to trust him at this level.

Won Kwon (-128) vs. Apollo Gomes (-128)

Won Kwon is back after losing his previous Contender Series appearance, and he’s basically the perfect fighter for this show. His fights bring chaos, and it feels like he’s either going to knock somebody out or get knocked out himself.

Apollo Gomes should have a major advantage if he decides to wrestle. He has a legitimate takedown game, and I don’t think he’ll have much trouble getting Kwon to the mat and putting himself in position to find a finish.

Gomes can strike as well, so there’s always the possibility that he decides to stand and trade because he wants to impress Dana White, but that would be unnecessarily dangerous.

If Gomes fights smart, he should use the takedown, take control on the ground and find the finish. Gomes is the pick.

Colton Loud (+220) vs. Christian Natividad (-267)

Colton Loud has looked great so far. We’ve seen knockouts, submissions and really good movement, and at only 25 years old, he should continue getting better and physically stronger. The question isn’t whether Loud has talent; it’s whether this opportunity is simply coming a little too soon.

Christian Natividad is a legitimate fighter with legitimate experience. He’s gone the distance in six of his last seven fights, which isn’t exactly the style Dana White is looking for on Contender Series, but Natividad is extremely polished with his wrestling, takedowns and control. If he sticks to his normal game plan, he should be able to dictate where this fight takes place and look dominant.

The interesting part is whether Natividad feels pressure to chase a finish and earn a contract. If he abandons his wrestling and decides to hunt for a knockout on the feet, he’s playing directly into Loud’s hands. If he simply fights to win, though, his experience and wrestling should be the difference.

Natividad is the pick to win, but he’ll probably need to do something impressive with that dominant ground game if he wants to leave with a UFC contract.

DWCS Week 4 Main Event: Quentin Pasley (+174) vs Arlind Berisha (-200)

Adam Darby has clearly faced the better level of competition, and that experience should make a major difference in this matchup. Darby has good length, is pretty sound defensively and has shown both striking and submission ability.

His striking can be a little unorthodox and I’d like to see him become quicker with his combinations, but what he’s doing has worked against significantly better opponents than Rivera has faced.

Patrick Rivera is 34 years old and has spent most of his career fighting very low-level competition in Shogun Fights. That’s a gigantic red flag at this stage of his career. It took him three rounds to finish a 44-year-old opponent, and because the competition has been so poor, he hasn’t really been forced to evolve.

His striking remains basic, and all three of his career losses have come by submission. Darby has more ways to win and has been tested at a much higher level. Darby is the pick.

<meta itemprop="description" content="😎 Who will be awarded UFC contracts tonight on Dana White's Contender Series Season 10 Week 5? He spends a lot of time waiting for the perfect opening rather than producing consistent volume.

He does a good job maintaining distance, has some solid kicks and tends to pounce once he finally lands the big shot he's looking for. The approach has worked, but the lack of activity concerns me against an opponent who can push a consistent pace.

Reginaldo Junior has faced good competition in LFA and has shown excellent cardio and durability. He's a solid striker, can mix in takedowns and is capable of controlling opponents once the fight gets to the ground.

He may not look physically imposing, but he just finds ways to win. There's a lot of heart and grit in his game, and his activity should give Moreno problems.

Junior is my kind of fighter, and at plus money, Reginaldo Junior +125 is the pick.

Martin Kozak (-345) vs. Christian Echols (+278)

Martin Kozak has excellent height and length and throws some very good kicks, but I'd like to see significantly more volume from him. He spends too much time feinting without actually unloading his offense. I've also seen him give up control time against the fence, although he does have a solid ground game when the fight gets there.

Christian Echols' résumé is the much bigger concern. He has faced truly awful competition, and nothing I've seen from him suggests that he has high-level striking, wrestling, grappling or cardio. He lost to a 3-0 opponent, then turned around and beat a 1-12 fighter, and now he's getting an opportunity on Contender Series.

Kozak isn't perfect, but he's clearly the pick here. Echols simply hasn't shown enough against legitimate competition to trust him at this level.

Won Kwon (-128) vs. Apollo Gomes (-128)

Won Kwon is back after losing his previous Contender Series appearance, and he's basically the perfect fighter for this show. His fights bring chaos, and it feels like he's either going to knock somebody out or get knocked out himself.

Apollo Gomes should have a major advantage if he decides to wrestle. He has a legitimate takedown game, and I don't think he'll have much trouble getting Kwon to the mat and putting himself in position to find a finish.

Gomes can strike as well, so there's always the possibility that he decides to stand and trade because he wants to impress Dana White, but that would be unnecessarily dangerous.

If Gomes fights smart, he should use the takedown, take control on the ground and find the finish. Gomes is the pick.

Colton Loud (+220) vs. Christian Natividad (-267)

Colton Loud has looked great so far. We've seen knockouts, submissions and really good movement, and at only 25 years old, he should continue getting better and physically stronger. The question isn't whether Loud has talent; it's whether this opportunity is simply coming a little too soon.

Christian Natividad is a legitimate fighter with legitimate experience. He's gone the distance in six of his last seven fights, which isn't exactly the style Dana White is looking for on Contender Series, but Natividad is extremely polished with his wrestling, takedowns and control. If he sticks to his normal game plan, he should be able to dictate where this fight takes place and look dominant.

The interesting part is whether Natividad feels pressure to chase a finish and earn a contract. If he abandons his wrestling and decides to hunt for a knockout on the feet, he's playing directly into Loud's hands. If he simply fights to win, though, his experience and wrestling should be the difference.

Natividad is the pick to win, but he'll probably need to do something impressive with that dominant ground game if he wants to leave with a UFC contract.

His striking can be a little unorthodox and I'd like to see him become quicker with his combinations, but what he's doing has worked against significantly better opponents than Rivera has faced.

Patrick Rivera is 34 years old and has spent most of his career fighting very low-level competition in Shogun Fights. That's a gigantic red flag at this stage of his career. It took him three rounds to finish a 44-year-old opponent, and because the competition has been so poor, he hasn't really been forced to evolve.

His striking remains basic, and all three of his career losses have come by submission. Darby has more ways to win and has been tested at a much higher level. Darby is the pick.

**************************************************

Looking for more free sports picks and sports betting tips?

Make sure to bookmark all the above!

["GET
