BKFC Fight Night Newcastle Predictions<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Lewis Keen -180 vs Stew Martin +155 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keen is one of the easier picks on the card. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

His movement is smooth, he stays composed, and he has a nasty jab that should give Martin\u00a0 problems throughout the fight. Martin is much slower and tends to wind up before throwing, which leaves him open to counters.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Martin also leans into the clinch when he starts getting tired, and that cardio issue could become  a major problem against someone as measured as Keen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keen has the advantages in cardio, stance, speed, and power. He is the clear play. Liam Hutchinson -220 vs Dylan Fail +185 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hutchinson should win this fight.\u00a0He has more experience, understands bare-knuckle boxing, and has a solid combination of\u00a0 offense and defensive awareness. His guard is reliable, and he should be the more comfortable fighter in this environment.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fail is still a raw boxer, but the improvement from his second-most-recent fight to his last  appearance was noticeable. His stance was cleaner, his punches were more controlled, and he  looked much more composed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The level of competition remains questionable, but I don\u2019t think Fail deserves to be as high as\u00a0+185. Hutchinson\u2019s experience makes him the pick<\/strong>, although Fail could make the opening round interesting.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Barry Boyle -120 vs James Walker +100 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both fighters are brawlers, and neither brings a great deal of technical boxing to the matchup.\u00a0Walker looks slightly more polished and may have the faster hands, but Boyle appears to carry\u00a0the heavier power, especially when the fight moves into the clinch.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Walker has also shown some cardio concerns, which could become important if Boyle can force\u00a0him into physical exchanges and make him work. This is a difficult fight to predict, but I\u2019ll side with Boyle. His clinch work is nasty, and I think he\u00a0 can do significant damage there.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mikey Nolan -400 vs John Ferguson +250 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This will be Nolan\u2019s first professional fight, but he should still roll in this matchup. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ferguson\u2019s durability appears to be gone. He has been stopped easily with both body shots and  head shots in his last two fights, and he doesn\u2019t offer enough offense to discourage opponents  from coming forward. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nolan should also have a major reach advantage, giving him another clear path to control the fight.\u00a0Don\u2019t be surprised if Ferguson gets knocked out in the first round <\/strong>again.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Harrison Cave -120 vs Danny Moir +100 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cave has almost no defense. He holds his hands low and swings hard, wild, and often while\u00a0searching for the knockout.\u00a0Moir has more experience, but he has been finished in each of his last two fights, making his\u00a0 durability a major liability.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cave will be easy to hit, but he throws so much volume that Moir may struggle to create enough  space to land his own offense. If the fight gets beyond the first round, Moir could potentially  wear Cave down as the pace slows. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I expect a short, violent fight. Cave is the lean<\/strong>, but I won\u2019t be betting it.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KJ Metcalfe -130 vs Owen Webster +110 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There isn\u2019t enough information available on Webster to make a confident handicap. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Metcalfe looks decent and has the experience advantage, but without meaningful footage on his  opponent, this is an easy fight to pass. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

No play for me<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jack Blair -125 vs Cory Chapman +105 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chapman carries his hands far too low. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That style may work in traditional boxing, but bare-knuckle fights can end after only a few clean  shots. Leaving his head exposed against an opponent with bare-knuckle experience is a  dangerous approach. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blair has already gone the distance and experienced a loss, which gives him a more reliable\u00a0 pedigree in this ruleset. He should also have the better defensive guard and be less likely to\u00a0absorb unnecessary damage.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chapman\u2019s defensive habits should create openings throughout the fight. Blair is the pick. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chris Burton -140 vs Daniel Curtin +110\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Neither fighter inspires much confidence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Curtin is 0-2, absorbs a ton of damage, and doesn\u2019t offer much offensively. Burton is 45 years  old and hasn\u2019t fought since 2018, when he lost. Before that, his previous fight came all the way  back in 2012. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are far too many unknowns with Burton after such a long layoff, but Curtin has looked bad\u00a0 enough that it\u2019s difficult to back him.\u00a0My guess is Burton comes in looking physically prepared<\/strong>, but this is still a very low-confidence\u00a0fight.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sandra Rees -220 vs Sally MacDonald +185 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both fighters have earned knockout wins against very weak opposition, so the records don\u2019t tell us much.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rees has an unusual style, holding her hands extremely high and throwing punches from  awkward angles. MacDonald looks more natural offensively and does a better job of applying  steady forward pressure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At this price, I prefer the underdog<\/strong>. MacDonald appears to have the more dependable style, and I think she offers the better betting value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BKFC Fight Night Newcastle Main Event: Lewis Garside vs Bradley Taylor<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The odds tell us exactly what to expect here: a very competitive fight. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I give a slight edge to Taylor. Garside\u2019s stance leaves his chin exposed, and I think Taylor is  more likely to land the cleaner, more damaging shots. Taylor may also have a small reach  advantage, which could help him control the exchanges from the outside. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This isn\u2019t a strong enough edge for me to bet aggressively, but Taylor is the pick<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
