BKFC 91 Predictions<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Jindrich Byrtus -150 vs Ernesto Papa +110 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Byrtus is a solid fighter with plenty of experience, but he has a tendency to get drawn into wild exchanges. When the firefights begin, he’ll duck his head and start winging punches, leaving\u00a0 plenty of openings.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His lone BKFC loss came after fading badly in the third round, although he has also shown he can win decisions, so it’s still difficult to know exactly how reliable his cardio is over longer fights.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Papa hasn’t faced elite competition, but he comes out extremely fast and already owns two first round knockouts in BKFC. If Byrtus gives him those early opportunities, Papa has the power to\u00a0capitalize.\u00a0The value sits with the underdog. At plus money, Papa is worth a look<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Toni Estorer -150 vs Tomas Melis +110 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a fight between two guys I don’t completely trust.\u00a0Estorer has looked good when facing lower-level competition but lost once he stepped up against\u00a0a more capable opponent.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Melis absorbed a lot of damage in his most recent loss, including suffering a broken nose earlier this year. Durability is a fair concern.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That said, Melis appears to be the quicker fighter and probably carries a little more power.\u00a0Estorer does have a reach advantage, but Melis’ compact style allows him to close distance\u00a0effectively.\u00a0I’ll lean toward Melis at plus money<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Danny Christie -200 vs Enzo Tobbia +150 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christie has dropped his last two fights, but both losses came against elite competition. Tobbia is\u00a0nowhere near that level.\u00a0Tobbia comes from an MMA background, is undersized for this matchup, and looked overwhelmed in his last BKFC appearance.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christie should have clear advantages in both size and reach. If he establishes the jab and starts\u00a0landing clean early, Tobbia is likely to unravel once the damage begins to accumulate.\u00a0This is a favorable bounce-back spot for Christie<\/strong>, and I expect him to find a finish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BKFC 91 Main Event<\/strong>: Lorenzo Hunt vs Walter Pugliesi<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I think Pugliesi is very live in this matchup.\u00a0His first step behind the jab is incredibly quick, and that speed could create problems for Hunt\u00a0 early. Hunt has all the experience in the world, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he starts a little\u00a0 slower while trying to read the fight.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hunt remains the more complete fighter. He has proven power, excellent cardio, and enough\u00a0 experience to capitalize on mistakes. If Pugliesi gets overly aggressive, Hunt is more than\u00a0capable of timing a counter on the way in.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The key is the pace. If Hunt can drag this fight into the second, third, and championship rounds, I\u00a0 think his experience begins to separate him. But early on, Pugliesi has a real chance to steal the fight.\u00a0I can’t justify laying -220 with Hunt. Pugliesi is the value side<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
