Villarreal vs Juventus Analysis<\/h2>\n

Villarreal finished second in the group stage behind Manchester United but were patchy at home, winning just one of their three home games at this venue.<\/p>\n

Juventus meanwhile topped their group, edging out a strong Chelsea side with a 1-0 win in Turin, and had the group\u2019s best overall road record as well, winning two of three away from home.<\/p>\n

Juventus and Villarreal have only faced each other once in this competition going all the way back to 2009, with the Spanish side coming out comfortable 4-1 winners in that one over in Italy, which coincidentally was the last time Villarreal made it this far in the competition.<\/p>\n

Villarreal High on Confidence<\/h3>\n

Villarreal come off a confidence boosting 4-1 victory over Granada at the weekend and last year\u2019s Europa League winners have been in solid form at home this season.<\/p>\n

Villarreal have gone unbeaten over their last six at home in La Liga and are tied with the league\u2019s third fewest losses at home this season as well.<\/p>\n

Juventus\u2019 Injury Crisis<\/h3>\n

Juventus is a team who have built from the back all year but enter Tuesday\u2019s clash against Villarreal in something of an injury crisis.<\/p>\n

Juventus won four of their five games in the group stage to nil as they remained extremely watertight at the back for the most part and have followed this up in Serie A as well, tied for the fewest goals allowed in the league since December 1st.<\/p>\n

However, the Italians are missing some key cogs at the back heading into this game and that could well prove to be the difference maker here in the first leg of this matchup.<\/p>\n
