BKFC 9<\/strong><\/strong>0 Predictions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Aaron Chalmers +750 vs Darren Till -1200\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

BKFC didn’t bring Darren Till in to lose.\u00a0Since leaving MMA, Till has won three exhibition boxing matches and continues to show the\u00a0 skills that made him a high-level striker throughout his UFC career. The size difference is\u00a0 significant here, and that’s before factoring in the reach advantage.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Till should be able to control the fight from range behind his jab and straight punches. He’s  always had excellent footwork and movement, and those traits should translate well to bare  knuckle boxing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I actually think Chalmers is better than this number suggests<\/strong>, which makes the line difficult to bet, but Till is the clear side and should win comfortably.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ryan Barrett +250 vs John Phillips -400\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Barrett is a former Marine and as tough as they come, but he’s very slow and stiff. He’s built\u00a0much of his success against lower-level competition in the BKB circuit, and while he has power,\u00a0 he needs opponents standing directly in front of him to land it.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Phillips may be 40 years old, but the former UFC fighter looked surprisingly sharp in his BKFC\u00a0debut. His footwork and head movement were much better than expected, and he showed the\u00a0 ability to avoid damage while piling up offense.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Barrett can crack, but Phillips should have major advantages in speed, movement, and volume.\u00a0Over time, those advantages should wear Barrett down and lead Phillips to a convincing win<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kaseem Saleem +120 vs Lucasz Parobiec -160\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parobiec is 46 years old and seemingly has no plans of slowing down. He has built a strong bare knuckle r\u00e9sum\u00e9 over the years and understands exactly what kind of fight he wants to have.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The speed isn’t there anymore, but the power still is. More importantly, he doesn’t need to be spectacular to win this matchup. Saleem is a big, rugged heavyweight who tends to walk straight\u00a0into punches and lacks the technical skills to consistently avoid damage.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s not an attractive fight from a betting standpoint, but Parobiec is the side I’d lean toward if forced to make a pick<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jonno Chipchase -105 vs Brian Hyslop -135\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I love Hyslop in this matchup.\u00a0Chipchase started his BKFC career 3-0, but he’s dropped his last two fights once the competition\u00a0 level improved. One of the biggest issues is his defense. He leaves his chin exposed far too often\u00a0 and that’s dangerous against accurate punchers.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hyslop lost his BKFC debut, but the performance was much better than the result suggests. The longtime MMA veteran showed solid movement, good cardio, and a durable chin while going\u00a0 the distance against an opponent who is now 4-0 in BKFC.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chipchase is a good hammer but not a very good nail. Hyslop’s pressure, experience, and\u00a0willingness<\/strong> to push forward should allow him to find that exposed chin repeatedly and earn the\u00a0victory<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BKFC 90<\/strong> Main Event: Rico Franco +110 vs Connor Tierney -150<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This should be one of the better fights on the card. Both guys are tough, experienced, and capable of making this a competitive fight over five rounds.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I lean toward Tierney here. I think he’ll be the bigger man in the ring, and more importantly, I\u00a0trust his durability a little more. In bare knuckle, absorbing damage and maintaining your pace\u00a0 matters as much as anything, and I think Tierney will have more left in the tank as the fight\u00a0 moves into the later rounds.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This fight feels likely to go the distance. Tierney’s combination punching and ability to put together eye-catching flurries could be enough to sway judges in close rounds. Slight lean to Tierney by decision<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
