The 2026 Cognizant Classic <\/strong>returns to the Champion Course at PGA National <\/strong>in Palm Beach\u00a0 Gardens, Florida, one of the most demanding stops on the Florida swing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This par-71 layout\u00a0 plays just over 7,100 yards, but yardage is rarely the story here. The course is defined by heavy\u00a0bunkering, narrow landing areas, and water hazards in play on the majority of holes<\/strong>,\u00a0 forcing players to think their way around rather than overpower it.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The famous \u201cBear Trap\u201d \u2014 holes 15, 16, and 17 \u2014 remains one of the most difficult three-hole\u00a0stretches on the PGA Tour, with water lurking on nearly every shot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Precision iron play and\u00a0confident putting on Bermudagrass greens are essential, especially when nerves tighten over the\u00a0weekend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While wind often defines this tournament, forecasts suggest minimal wind this week<\/strong>,\u00a0which could soften the course\u2019s usual bite.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a chance of rain on Friday and possibly Saturday<\/strong>, which may make the greens more\u00a0 receptive and keep scoring from getting out of control. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a weaker-than-usual field<\/strong>, this\u00a0event sets up as a prime opportunity for a mid-tier or rising player to contend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even without\u00a0 heavy winds, PGA National\u2019s bunkers, water hazards, and demanding approach shots will ensure\u00a0that patience and smart course management remain the keys to victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cognizant Classic: Players That Can Trip You Up<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Brooks Koepka <\/strong>is still living off name value, but the numbers don\u2019t lie. Through two\u00a0tournaments he\u2019s losing -2.12 strokes putting<\/strong>, and that\u2019s not new\u2014he hasn\u2019t putted well for\u00a0 years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rest of the game is serviceable, but you can\u2019t survive with a cold putter on birdie heavy setups. He\u2019s finished 56th and missed the cut in his first two events back on the PGA Tour.\u00a0Until the flat stick shows life, he\u2019s a trap.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aaron Rai <\/strong>hasn\u2019t done enough to warrant serious consideration. He finished 28th last week, but\u00a0the season-long stats are shaky: -0.32 strokes gained putting<\/strong>, -0.23 off the tee<\/strong>, and weak\u00a0around-the-green numbers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s not the profile of someone ready to contend. Add in course\u00a0history of 66th and a missed cut in two appearances, and there\u2019s very little to hang your hat on.\u00a0Easy fade.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keith Mitchell <\/strong>is being priced as a Top 7 option, which feels wildly aggressive. He finished\u00a042nd here last year and has struggled this season, losing -0.48 strokes putting <\/strong>while his\u00a0approach play hasn\u2019t been sharp. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Four of his five starts this year have ended outside the Top 40.\u00a0At this number, you\u2019re paying for upside that simply hasn\u2019t shown up. He\u2019s a clear fade this\u00a0 week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cognizant Classic: DraftKings Darlings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Tom Kim ($7,400) <\/strong>has quietly been steady to start the season, making all five cuts so far and\u00a0making the cut in his only appearance at this tournament. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The putter hasn\u2019t been great, but his\u00a0 accuracy off the tee keeps him in play and sets up manageable approach shots. In a weak field,\u00a0sometimes you have to click names that make you a little nervous\u2014but Tom\u2019s consistency gives him a strong floor with upside if the putter cooperates.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

John Parry ($7,500) <\/strong>has been one of the true DraftKings Darlings this year. He\u2019s made all four cuts this season and continues to show balance in his game. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He\u2019s gaining +0.54 strokes putting\u00a0 and his approach play has been steady, which is a great combination at this price point. Parry\u00a0keeps giving us weekend points, and there\u2019s no reason to get off the train now.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

John Keefer ($7,800) <\/strong>is another model of consistency with a perfect cut record this season. The\u00a0short game has been rough\u2014putting and around-the-green numbers haven\u2019t been good\u2014but his tee-to-green game ranks 5th best in the field. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That kind of ball-striking creates birdie\u00a0opportunities, and if the putter even heats up slightly, he could smash value. He\u2019s a risk-reward\u00a0play with legitimate upside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
