Genesis Invitational Course: Riviera Country Club<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The 2026 Genesis Invitational <\/strong>returns to historic Riviera Country\u00a0 Club<\/strong>, one of the PGA Tour\u2019s most respected and strategically\u00a0demanding venues. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The par-71 layout stretches just over 7,300 yards and\u00a0 features tree-lined fairways, classic bunker placement, and some of the\u00a0most nuanced green complexes players face all season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Riviera rewards\u00a0creativity and shot-shaping, particularly on approach shots into its firm,\u00a0 tilted greens.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This week, rain on Monday and Tuesday <\/strong>should leave the course\u00a0 noticeably softer, especially in the fairways and on the greens. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u00a0added moisture will reduce rollout off the tee and allow players to attack\u00a0more pins early in the tournament. However, a bit of additional rain\u00a0expected Thursday could keep conditions from firming up too quickly,\u00a0meaning approach control and spin management will be slightly less\u00a0 demanding than in a typical Riviera setup.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even with softer conditions, Riviera\u2019s strategic bunkering, the iconic\u00a0 short par-4 10th, and its demanding finishing stretch will ensure that\u00a0course management remains critical. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expect scoring to be a touch lower\u00a0than usual if the course stays receptive, but it will still require elite iron\u00a0 play and confident putting to contend on this classic Los Angeles layout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Genesis Invitational: Players That Can Trip You Up<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Russell Henley <\/strong>is being priced like a safe Top 20 option, but the history\u00a0here says otherwise. He\u2019s -135 to finish Top 20 despite accomplishing\u00a0that just once in the last seven years at this event. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lack of length off\u00a0the tee has consistently hurt him on this layout, and with wet fairways\u00a0expected, it only magnifies that issue. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He\u2019s gaining just +0.13 strokes off the tee this week, which isn\u2019t enough to offset the disadvantage. At this\u00a0price, he\u2019s a trap.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Si Woo Kim <\/strong>finally saw his shaky putting catch up to him last week. He\u00a0lost -0.59 strokes on the greens, and the rest of his game wasn\u2019t strong\u00a0enough to bail him out. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He\u2019s been skating by with mediocre putting most\u00a0of the season, and that\u2019s a dangerous formula long term. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On a course\u00a0where birdie conversion is critical, that flat stick is a liability. He feels\u00a0 like a stay-away until the putter stabilizes.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Collin Morikawa <\/strong>just delivered a masterclass with the irons in his win,\u00a0but this screams regression spot. He gained +2.72 strokes on approach\u00a0 and drove it beautifully, yet still ranked just 44th in putting, gaining only\u00a0+0.14 on the greens. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Winning while putting that poorly isn\u2019t a sustainable formula week after week. If the irons cool off even slightly,\u00a0the scoring won\u2019t hold. This is the type of bounce-back fade that can trip bettors up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Genesis Invitational: DraftKings Darlings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Nico Echavarria ($6,300) <\/strong>looked lost the first three weeks of the season\u00a0with three missed cuts and poor underlying stats, but everything flipped\u00a0 last week with an 8th-place finish. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

His approach play, putting, and\u00a0 around-the-green numbers all took a massive step forward. Driving still\u00a0 needs to tighten up, but he showed he can survive here with a 34th-place\u00a0 finish last year. At this price in DFS, you\u2019re chasing upside\u2014and Nico\u00a0 just flashed it.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ryo Hisatsune ($6,800) <\/strong>is one of the hottest players in this range with\u00a0 three straight Top 10 finishes. He ranks 6th in total strokes gained over\u00a0the last three weeks and is gaining strokes in every major category. The\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

putter has been especially sharp at +0.99 strokes gained over that stretch,\u00a0 and his elite driving accuracy sets up consistent birdie looks. He brings\u00a0both form and statistical balance into a week where that profile should\u00a0 pay off.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sahith Theegala ($6,900) <\/strong>didn\u2019t have his best week last time out, but\u00a0the bigger picture is strong. He\u2019s never missed the cut at this event, finished 17th here last year, and has made every cut this season with two\u00a0Top 10s already. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Off-the-tee play hasn\u2019t been elite, but his approach and\u00a0 putting numbers have been excellent so far. At this salary, he offers a\u00a0high floor with legitimate top-15 upside.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
