The 2025 NFL season kicks off with a primetime NFC East showdown as the\u00a0Dallas Cowboys take on the Philadelphia Eagles<\/strong>\u00a0on\u00a0Thursday Night Football<\/strong>. Sportmemo’s Steve Seagrave<\/a> is eyeing the top player props for Week 1<\/strong>, with star names like\u00a0Dak Prescott and Saquon Barkley<\/strong>\u00a0featured in the spotlight. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

NFL Thursday Night Football Props Prediction: Dak Prescott, Cowboys OVER 36.5 Pass Attempts (+100)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Dak Prescott enters the 2025 campaign surrounded by an amazing group of weapons as the addition of wide receiver George Pickens allows CeeDee Lamb to thrive in his natural position of slot receiver. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prescott covered this line in 4\/8 games during the 2024 campaign but one of those unders was due to an injury as he missed the entire 4th quarter while finishing with 24 attempts in his last game against the Atlanta Falcons. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was also a 38-point blowout loss against the Detroit Lions where Prescott finished with 33 pass attempts after being pulled in the 4th quarter for Cooper Rush who added 11 more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another under came against the New York Giants where Prescott attempted 27 passes as Dallas controlled the game and didn’t need to rely on the pass. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That won’t be the game script on Thursday Night Football as the Philadelphia Eagles are 7.5 home favorites in their first game as Super Bowl Champions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Only the Carolina Panthers allowed more points per game than the Cowboys defense last season and the future doesn’t look bright after trading Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dallas running game is also unproven, but they still have a strong offensive line to protect Prescott. This should be a scenario we see a lot in 2025 as Prescott & company need to throw the ball a ton in an attempt to keep up with their opponents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NFL Thursday Night Football Props Prediction: Saquon Barkley, Eagles Longest Rush OVER 19.5 Yards (-120)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Saquon Barkley won the NFL Offensive Player of the Year award last season as he became the 9th player in NFL history to eclipse 2,000 rushing yards with a league leading 2,005 yards. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Barkley finished 2nd behind only Derrick Henry in yards after contact with 5.81 yards per carry. The Eagles running back cleared this line in 13 of his 20 games (65%) while also landing on 17, 18 and 19 in three of games where he fell just short. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That includes Barkley’s last game of the regular season against the Dallas Cowboys where he ripped off a 23-yard scamper. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Cowboys allowed the 4th most rushing yards overall during the 2024 campaign (137.1\/game) while allowed the 3rd most yards after contact (4.84 YPC) and 3rd highest explosive run rate (6.4%). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dallas did very little to improve upon that defense and they probably have taken a step back while trading Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Philadelphia Eagles have the #1 graded offensive line entering the 2025 campaign according to PFF so their ground attack remains elite. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Barkley never failed to record a double-digit yard carry during the 2025 season, and he will see plenty of opportunities to rip off a 20+ yard carry against a suspect defense in his first game as a defending Super Bowl Champion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
