Although James Wood would make an excellent choice for a home run prop pick today, we\u2019re going to take the better odds with Josh Bell to hit his 12th home run today as the Cardinals host the Nationals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

St. Louis sends veteran Miles Mikolas to the mound who has allowed 15 home runs in total this season with 10 of them coming against lefties. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bell and Mikolas have crossed paths quite a bit throughout their careers with the Nationals first baseman going 10-34 against him all-time with two home runs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bell has also performed much better on the road belting nine of his 11 away from Nationals park and he\u2019s been on fire as of late in general batting .458 in July to go along with a .583 slugging percentage although he doesn\u2019t have a home run yet this month. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mikolas is also in shaky form coming off a performance where he allowed six home runs in six innings against the Cubs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even before that though he had allowed at least one home run in five straight starts. Take Bell to hit a home run today at +500<\/strong> with other Nationals batters to consider for a home run include Wood (+360)<\/strong> and C.J. Abrams (+540)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MLB HR Props Best Bet of the Day #2: Sean Murphy (ATL) +300<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Braves hit five home runs in Sacramento last night against the Athletics and we think some more bombs will be hit tonight with the Athletics sending lefty JP Sears to the mound. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sears has allowed 18 home runs this season with 12 of them coming at home and 16 of them coming against righties. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Atlanta catcher Sean Murphy got the night off last night so he should be rested and refreshed to hit a home run tonight. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Murphy has four home runs across his last 15 days while slugging .724 during that stretch and sports a .531 slugging percentage on the road overall this season compared to a .436 slugging percentage at home. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sears has actually been solid across his last three starts while not allowing a home run, but we think there is some regression to the means tonight, facing a Braves lineup that\u2019s determined to go into hosting the all-star festivities on a high note after a mostly disappointing first half to the season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
